Overview:
The 10 Days Uganda Safari takes you through the prime Uganda safari destinations including Murchison Falls National Park which is the largest park with counts of giraffe, elephants, lions, buffaloes, leopard among others. The encounters in Ziwa Sanctuary exposes you to white Rhinos, the Nile launch cruise and Kazinga channel recreational encounters allows you to explore the Nile crocodiles, numerous hippos and birds. Talk of chimpanzee trekking in the endowed primate capital of the world with 13 primate species or the famous mountain gorilla trekking in the impenetrable Bwindi lying in the shadows of Virunga Volcanoes, it is all that you have longed to see in Africa. Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park, visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary en route & top of the falls on arrival.
Leave Kampala after breakfast as early as 6:00am from your place of stay and head to the north of Uganda accompanied by the company guide. The journey is 311km about 5 hours’ drive to Murchison Falls National Park passing through the flat Nakasongora landscapes before diverting at Nakitoma from the main road 115 Km from Kampala to drive further for extra 7 Km to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. You will spend some time tracking the magnificent white Rhinos which only exist at this place in Uganda after which you will proceed to Masindi for Lunch. In the afternoon, you will continue on the drive to Murchison Falls National Park and upon arrival, you will hike the top of the falls to take time gaze at the splendid powerful waterfalls and listening to its roaring sound as it squeezes itself through the 8m ravine before falling 43m below the devils cauldron forming a plume of spray with a trade mark rainbow – the greatest feature to have ever happened on the course of the Nile River which happens to be the longest river in the world.  Check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Game drive & an afternoon Nile launch cruise
Wake up very early for a cup of coffee and then head to the Park for the game drive. The possible sights of various wildlife including; elephants, buffalo, Jackson hartebeest, Kobs, lion, leopard, giraffe among other wildlife will leave you with a taste of African savannah wilderness. The activity takes 3 – 4 hours after which you will return to the Paraa ferry crossing at 11:00am to go back to your lodge for relaxation and memory sharing. After your stimulating lunch, gather at the Paraa for an after boat cruise on the Nile at 02:00pm. This boat trip has got captains and guides who have cruised on this waters for years and will be glad to share with every piece of information that you would wish to gather on this trip including any bird species and wildlife both aquatic and land that might present its self. The shoebill stork can be luckily seen on this boat while the great sights of Nile crocodiles – the second largest reptile in the world and the Hippos would make up your trip up to the base of the falls. The boat takes 3 hours after which you will have marked the end of your day’s adventures.

Day 3: Transfer to Hoima & visit Mpalo Royal Tombs
After breakfast, embark on the transfer to Hoima where you will visit the Mpalo Royal Tombs to encounter historical Kings of Bunyoro like King (Omukama) Kabalega who is famously known for resisting against the British rule in Bunyoro. Have an afternoon relaxation at the lodge.

Day 4: Transfer to Fort Portal, visit the Amabere g’ Nnyinamwiru caves, do Crater Lake hike & then transfer to Kibale National Park.
After an early breakfast, embark on the drive to Fort Portal area. After an approximate 5 hour drive on a rough murram road always preferred and named by the European travellers as African massage, you will arrive in Fort Portal town – the main town of the romantic Batooro in time for lunch. After lunch you will drive to the Fort Portal crater area for a hike and Amabere g’ Nnyinamwiru caves tour. Amabere g’ Nnyinamwiru caves – the breast like features dates back in the pre historic era with great attachment to the Chwezi heritage. The breasts (Amabere) are believed by the locals to belong to Nnyinamwiru the daughter of Bukuku who was a self-imposed King of the Bachwezi. The maiden daughter cut her breasts in protest of being refused to breast feed her only son Ndahura who later became a prominent King of the Chwezi Empire. The encounter also involves the hiking the Fort Portal Crater field. The famous Kyeganywa hill rises in a conical shape and its summit presents great sight-seeing moments of the range crater hollows and crater lakes including Saaka, Bikere among others not forgetting the distant views of Mount Rwenzori on a clear day. Transfer to Kibale area for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Do Chimpanzee trekking & transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Visit Rwenzori Art foundation & Ruboni Community wax & craft center en route. 
After breakfast, gather at Kanyanchu tourism center for briefing at 08:00am from the park rangers about the Chimp trekking conduct. Set off to this forest of Kibale after the short briefing in quest of Chimpanzees. The 2 – 5 hour trek will expose you amazing tree species and wildlife including other 12 species of primates like Colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, Red tailed monkeys and olive baboons. The sights of Birds cannot be avoided while their songs will offer you natural entertainment through the jungle. You will marvel at the Chimpanzees as the roll themselves on tree branches, munch fruits and make their pant – hooting calls. After utilizing your one hour, you will have a picnic lunch and return to the starting point for short relaxation and then embark on the transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park 157km about 3 hours’ drive excluding stops en route. You will make a stop visit at the Rwenzori Art Foundation – the only bronze casting center in Africa to have a look at the process of various sculpture making and the final products. A fine cup of coffee can be arranged at the site before proceeding to visit the Ruboni craft & wax center to have a look at how the local people extract different products like candles from bees wax and also encounter the craft making process. It is an experiential and if interested you can have some time and participate in making if various crafts like baskets among others.  Proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Do game drive & an afternoon launch cruise along the 45km long Kazinga Channel.
Wake up very for a cup of coffee before setting of for the game drive activity in the savannah game park of Queen Elizabeth. The early departure at 06:00 gives you an opportunity to see night hunters like hyenas getting back to their hiding places and early risers setting off to look for what to eat. The drive through the Kasenyi and channel tracks gives a probable opportunity to see a range of game including; Lions, buffalo, elephants, elusive leopard (if too lucky), defassa water bucks, Uganda kobs, Oribis, side stripped jackal among other wildlife. Return to the lodge after this 3 -4 hour game drive and relax till lunch time. After lunch, you will gather at Mweya for a recreational afternoon launch cruise leaving at 03:00pm taking 2 hours exploring the magical offerings of Kazinga Channel including the sights of water birds and wild game drinking on the channel side, the Nile crocodile and the Hippos. The 45m channel that stretches from Lake George to Lake Edward has tranquil waters that always give pleasure and psychological satisfaction to any traveller on Uganda safaris. Retire from the boat at 5 pm for relaxation and overnight.

Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Do Ishasha game drive en route in search of tree climbing lions.
After breakfast, embark on the transfer to the gorilla trekking haven of Bwindi. You will pass through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park and do simple game drive in search of the unique tree climbing lions that tend to rest on fig tree branches during day time – something that you can only find in Queen Elizabeth National Park Ishasha sector – Uganda and Lake Manyara National Park in southern Tanzania. Proceed with the journey, have lunch en route and arrive in Bwindi in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Do gorilla trekking & transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, do an evening boat cruise & relaxation
It is this long waited date when you will come across the critically endangered mountain gorillas that only exist in Bwindi and Virunga Volcanoes. You will wake up early for a heavy breakfast before gathering at the Park headquarters for briefing at 08:00 about the conduct of gorilla trekking. You will head to the forest after briefing in search of these apes and though the trek is a bit challenging, it is one of those activities that you will never forget to have done in Uganda. The 2 – 8 hours activity involves hiking up the hills, descending down the valleys, walking through swamps and maneuvering the way through thickets which have formed the background of this Impenetrable forest before coming in direct contact with gorillas. The one full hour is at your disposal to maximize your experience with gorillas as you them forage, play, socialize and also gaze at you in a sign of welcoming and saying good bye. The opportunity to take as many photos as you can is availed to you while asking questions to your guide about these apes is up to your discretion. The experience is rewarding and worth undertaking. Your picnic lunch will take you through the activity after which you will descend to the starting point and embark on the transfer to Lake Bunyonyi 48km passing through the scenic landscapes of Kigezi highlands.  Upon arrival, do a recreational evening boat cruise exploring the beauty of Lake Bunyonyi dubbed the lake of a thousand hills because of its 29 islands amidst the scenic Kigezi highlands dubbed the Switzerland of Africa. Retire for overnight.

Day 9: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park, traditional lunch stop at Igongo Cultural Center en route & do night game drive in the park.
After breakfast, embark on the drive to Lake Mburo National Park 199km about 5 hours’ drive. You will make a lunch stop at Igongo Cultural Center to enjoy the thrilling traditional full Buffet before proceeding in the afternoon to the park and the lodge in particular for relaxation. After dinner, you will undertake a night game drive exploring the park’s savannah nocturnal species including hare, porcupine, Aardvack, white-tailed mongoose, honey badger, side – stripped jackal, bush pig, spotted hyena, serval cat, jenet cat, civet, thick – tailed Galago and black galago.
Accommodation: Mihingo Safari Lodge (Upmarket/Luxury), Arcadia Cottages (Midrange/Standard) or Eagles Nest (Basic/Budget).

Day 10: Do morning walking Safari & transfer to Kampala. Make a stop at Uganda Equator crossing Kayabwe.
Wake up for a relaxed breakfast until the sun rises across the savannah landscapes of Lake Mburo National Park at 8 am. Head to the park on foot exploring the amazing landscapes and wild game that thrive in this savannah eco-system. Wild game possibilities include; zebras, topis, Impala, buffaloes, eland, waterbuck, and warthog, among other species. The savannah landscapes with acacia woodland dotted with ancient Precambrian rocks offers you great scenic encounters.  You will settle down for relaxation and lunch after which you embark on the return journey 240km about 3 – 4 hours’ drive to Kampala arriving in the evening. You can make a stop at the equator crossing – Kayabwe for water experiment to prove the existence of northern and southern hemispheres and amazing photo shoots.

We offer set departure dates for the above scheduled programs LEAVING FROM KAMPALA ON THE SPECIFIC DATES MENTIONED.These are fixed for groups who would like to join other people traveling on these tours.

Where gorilla tracking is involved, this will depend on the availability of gorilla permits at the time of booking. Because of the scarcity of gorilla permits, our programs have been standardized to allow tracking in either Bwindi or Mgahinga parks or Rwanda – De Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. However tracking Rwanda (Park Volcanoes) this will need a top up of permits, visa entry, accommodation and border crossing fees.

Clients to track in Rwanda staying in upmarket/Medium facilities will top USD 395 and client staying budget facility will be toping up USD 285.

Safaris cutting accross x-mas and end of year dates will be subjected to supplements.

Tour minimum numbers of people are 2 – 6 people. Each person will be communicated the standing number of persons to join and how many are confirmed for the trip. A refund or top up will be paid where the number exceeds other than communicated. Big groups will be communicated special rates on request

Clients on working visits in the country stand to exploit this chance for our affordable tours and safaris.

Accommodation

In terms of accommodation the price quote given is based on the Midium rate and budget options rate accommodation facilities. The budget type of accommodation is in rest camps or bandas- which are African small medium houses separate from each other and may not necessarily be self contained, while in other cases it will be in hostels like at Queen Elizabeth National Park or in budget hotels. In most cases these are simple accommodation units but with clean facilities. Meals can either be served from canteens in some cases or in the Dinning rooms.

In the Medium option rates, accommodation is in self-contained facilities (cottages, hotels, lodges or tented camps) with standard en-suit rooms and offer meals of international standard cuisine. For Luxury and Upmarket accommodation facilities can send special request.

Included in the Cost

The costs given above include accommodation and meals on full board basis while on safari, 1 gorilla permit and 1 or 2 chimp tracking permits per person where mentioned, 1 boat cruise on River Nile in Murchison Falls National Park and another launch cruise on Kazinga channel in Queen Elizabeth National park also where mentioned, game drives and park entrance fees plus bottled water through out the safari transits.

Cost Excludes

The cost excludes airport transfers and accommodation in Kampala. However, airport transfers and accommodation while in Kampala (before and after the safari) can be arranged for you on request. The cost also does not cover drinks, souvenirs, tips, and all other expenses of personal nature. Our trips usually begin at 8.00am from Sheraron or we can pick you at your hotel and end in Kampala. However, pick up from any other place can be arranged on request.

Deposit.

A total of 30% will be deposited or at least costs to pay for gorilla permit fees to confirm the safari .The Balance will be paid 3o days to safari date. Payments will be done by sending funds by Telegraphic Transfer (wire transfer ) method to our bank Account details communicated upon confirmation.
