The 10 Days Uganda Gorilla, Chimpanzee & Wildlife Safari presents Mountain Gorilla trekking,Chimpanzee trekking, extensive wild game viewing and incredible scenery. The destinations featured include; Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Murchison Falls National Park, Kibale National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Lake Bunyonyi and Lake Mburo National Park. The safari starts and ends at Entebbe International Airport.

Safari Highlight

Day 1: Arrive in Uganda – Entebbe International Airport and transfer to the Hotel

Day 2: Drive to Murchison Falls NP, en route visit toZiwa Rhino Sanctuary

Day 3: Morning game drive in northern Murchison, Nile launch cruise in the afternoon &hike to the top of the falls

Day 4: Drive to Kibale National Park. Sightseeing of the countryside

Day 5: Undertake Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Np, afternoon Bigodi wetland walk& transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 6: Do morning game drive in Kasenyi sector, afternoon launch cruise along the 45km long Kazinga Channel & channel track evening game drive

Day 7: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Ishashasector game drive en route for more wild game including tree climbing lions

Day 8: Undertake Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable NP& transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, do an evening boat cruise & relaxation

Day 9: Drive to Lake Mburo National Park, enjoy lunch at Igongo & do an evening game drive upon arrival

Day 10: Enjoy morning walking Safari in the moist savannah landscapes of Lake Mburo Np & transfer to Kampala. Make a stop at Uganda Equator crossing Kayabween route

Detailed Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Uganda – Entebbe International Airport and transfer to the Hotel

Upon landing at Entebbe International Airport, you are welcomed by our representative who will then transfer you to the Hotel

Day 2: Drive to Murchison Falls NP, en route visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Set off for the drive to Murchison Falls National Park 311km approximately 5 hours’ drive excluding the stop at Ziwa.  The Rhino trekking experience at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary lasts 2 hours marking your initial encounter with the Big five. Settle for hot lunch at Kabalega Dinner and continue to Murchison for overnight

Day 3: Morning game drive in northern Murchison, Nile launch cruise in the afternoon & hike to the top of the falls

The northern sector of Murchison Falls National Park has a very open beautiful savannah landscape dotted with a myriad of wild game including the towering Rothschild Giraffes, Elephants, Leopards, Defassa waterbucks, Jackson’s Hartebeest, Buffaloes, Kobs, Lions, Oribi and a range of bird species. The game drive starting at 7am lasts for 3 – 4-hour game drive. You return to the lodge for hot lunch or enjoy picnic lunch if you carried lunch box in the morning. At 2pm, the scheduled Nile launch cruise to the bottom of the falls departs Paraa Jetty offering opportunity to spot the Hippos, Nile crocodile, birds like shoebill stork and the wild game drinking on the river side.  The adventure hike to the top of Murchison Falls NP offer exciting views of the world’s most powerful waterfall where the Nile River squeezes itself to pass through a less than 7m ravine before falling 43m below the Devil’s Cauldron forming a plume of spray with a thunderous roar and trademark rainbow. Meet your guide and vehicle at the top of the falls and connect to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Drive to Kibale National Park. Sightseeing of the countryside 

Depart the lodge after breakfast for the transfer to Kibale National Park 366km about 8 hours drive enjoying the countryside views of rural Uganda. You can enjoy packed lunch from the lodge en route or have late hot lunch in Fort Portal.

Day 5: Undertake Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Np, afternoon Bigodi wetland walk & transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. 

Settle for breakfast and transfer to Kanyanchu tourism centre where briefing for Chimpanzee trekking starts at 08:00am. The activity is conducted by the park ranger guides with 2 – 5 hours in the forest but with one hour of actual Chimp viewing and photoshoots for purposes of Conservation.  From the Chimp trek, enjoy your lunch after which you do Bigodi walk for 1 – 2 hours enjoying the birds sight possibilities including the Great Blue Turaco, swamp animals like Sitatunga and other primate species. This eco tour experience also captures the community way of life after which you transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP 157km about 3 hours’ drive. Sightseeing of Rwenzori Mountains en route is rewarding to explore.

Day 6: Do morning game drive in Kasenyi sector, afternoon launch cruise along the 45km long Kazinga Channel & channel track evening game drive

The game drive starts at 7am where you will explore the Kasenyi sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park for 3 – 4 hours offering likely sights of Lions, Leopard, Buffalos, Elephants, spotted hyenas, Kobs, water bucks among others. Settle for lunch and in the afternoon, you take up Kazinga Channel launch cruise departing at 2pm for a period of 2 hours drive. The likely sights include; Nile Crocodiles, Hippos, wild game drinking water or hunting on the channel side and the range of birds. The evening game drive will be done along the channel track as you connect back to the lodge.

Day 7: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Ishasha sector game drive en route for more wild game including tree climbing lions  

Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park 160km to Buhoma or 218km to Ruhija but an en route game drive will be made in Ishasha sector to gain chances of viewing the famous tree climbing lions along with other wild game.

Day 8: Undertake Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable NP & transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, do an evening boat cruise & relaxation

Mountain Gorilla Trekking starts at 8am with briefing at the respective park headquarter and is conducted by armed park ranger guides. The trek traverses hilly forested landscapes of Bwindi with dense vegetation, narrow valleys and steep slopes. The 2 – 8 hours trek depending on the gorilla group movement provides for one full hour with the Mountain Gorillas viewing them as they forage and socialize while taking amazing photos. From the activity, you transfer to Lake Bunyonyi driving through the scenic Kigezi Highlands dubbed the Switzerland of Africa and spend the evening at leisure. A canoe ride to explore this amazing lake with 29 Islands will also be organized.

Day 9: Drive to Lake Mburo National Park, enjoy lunch at Igongo & do an evening game drive upon arrival

Settle for relaxed breakfast and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park 199km about 4 hours’ drive enjoying the views of the countryside rural areas and towns.  Break the drive at Igongo for lunch – Ugandan cuisine after which you proceed to the park for an afternoon game viewing experience. The views of the savannah at the sun set is also amazing.

Day 10: Enjoy morning walking Safari in the moist savannah landscapes of Lake Mburo Np & transfer to Kampala. Make a stop at Uganda Equator crossing Kayabween route Game walking safari in Lake Mburo National Park starts at 7am enjoying the scenic walk through the moist savannah with likely good views of Burchell’s Zebra, Impala, waterbucks, Topis, Warthogs, Cape Buffalos among others. From the 2-hour activity, spend the time chilling at the lodge, settle for lunch and later transfer to Kampala / Entebbe. A stop at Uganda Equator crossing Kayabwe offers good photo shooting opportunities.
