Detailed Safari Itinerary of 10 Days Uganda Gorilla Safari & Wildlife Safari in Tanzania

Day 1 of the 10 Days Uganda Tanzania Gorilla, Chimpanzee & Wildlife Safari: Drive to Kibale National Park & relax. Tour to the Amabere g’Nyinamwiru caves & adventure hike to the Fort Portal Crater lake field

Breakfast at your place of stay in Kampala, depart at 6:30am for the transfer to Fort Portal Area to the west of Uganda 300km about 5 hours’ drive. The drive offers good views of rural landscapes, en route towns, inselbergs of Mubende, swamps and forests both natural and plantation.  Hot lunch in Fort Portal after which you can undertake a heritage tour to Amabere g’ Nnyinamwiru caves believed traditionally to be breasts of Nnyinamwiru the daughter of Bukuku – a self-enthroned King of the Bachwezi who is noted to have denied his daughter a chance of breast feeding her Son in fear that he would take over his throne. From the caves, set off on the hike to Fort Portal Crater lake field – one of the four explosion craters in Uganda for amazing sightseeing experience. Settle for relaxation, dinner and overnight

Day 2 of the 10 Days Uganda Tanzania Gorilla, Chimpanzee & Wildlife Safari Enjoy Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale NP & afternoon Bigodi wetland walk 

After breakfast, gather at Kanyanchu tourism centre for briefing at 08:00am from the park rangers about the Chimp trekking conduct. Set off to this forest of Kibale after the short briefing in quest of Chimpanzees. The 2 – 5-hour trek will expose you amazing tree species and wildlife including other 12 species of primates like Colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, Red tailed monkeys and olive baboons. The sights of Birds cannot be avoided while their songs will offer you natural entertainment through the jungle. You will marvel at the Chimpanzees as the roll themselves on tree branches, munch fruits and make their pant – hooting calls. After utilizing your one hour, you will have a picnic lunch and return to the starting point for short relaxation before embarking on the wetland walk in the Bigodi sanctuary after for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

 Day 3 of the 10 Days Uganda Tanzania Gorilla, Chimpanzee & Wildlife Safari: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Optional Ishasha sector game drive in search of tree climbing lions en route 

Settle for breakfast after which you drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park exploring the impressive landscapes including the scenic landscapes of Rwenzori Mountains and the savannah stretches of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Arrive at the lodge in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight. An optional game drive can be undertaken in Ishasha sector in search of tree climbing lions.

Day 4 of the 10 Days Uganda Tanzania Gorilla, Chimpanzee & Wildlife Safari: Do Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park & transfer to Kigali 

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is one of the diverse and rich protected areas in Uganda. With a minimum of 400 Mountain Gorillas which is close to a half of their world population, Bwindi presents a very rewarding Mountain Gorilla trekking starting at 8am from the respective park station with briefing by the park ranger guides. The gorilla trek duration is 2 – 8 hours but with one full hour of actual viewing and photoshoots. It involves traversing beautiful landscapes with steep hills and narrow valleys amidst lush flora and birds.  From the activity, you transfer to Kigali with amazing views of Kigezi Highlands and Rwandan hillsides.

Set off for the drive to Tarangire National Park 150km about 3 hours’ drive enjoying the views of en route landscapes. You will engage in an exciting game drive upon arrival for likely sights of herds of Elephants, Lions, Cheetah, Zebras, Leopards, Wildebeest, the dry country antelopes such as the rare fringe-eared oryx and long-necked gerenuk

Set off for the drive to Serengeti National Park 305km approximately 6 hours’ drive driving through Ndutu Area.  You are welcomed by endless plains of Serengeti National Park with one of the greatest wildlife counts on the African continent. Engage in a rewarding game drive upon arrival.

Day 8 of the 10 Days Uganda Tanzania Gorilla, Chimpanzee & Wildlife Safari: Unlimited game drive in Serengeti National Park – Central Area

Embark on an extensive game drive in Serengeti National Park gaining chances of viewing great populations of Big cats such as Lions, Leopard, Tanzanian Cheetah, Jackals and many more, Millions of Wildebeest, Gazelles, hundreds of thousands of Zebras, Elephants, Buffalos, Elands among others.

Engage in a final game drive in Serengeti National Park for more wild game views after which you transfer to Ngorongoro Crater – one of the seven natural wonders in Africa. Undertake a walk on the crater rim.

Descend down the Ngorongoro Crater for an extensive game drive on the crater floor. Explore this amazing landscape that has been ranked among the seven natural wonders of Africa and also declared a world heritage site. Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest intact, unfilled and intact volcanic caldera with great concentration of wildlife including Elephants, Wildebeest, Black Rhinos, Cheetah, Lions, Leopard, Cape Buffalos among others. Ascend from the crater late afternoon and transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport to catch up with the flight in the late evening.
