10 Days Adventure Vacation Safari in Uganda and Rwanda -Detailed Safari Itinerary:
Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park. Visit the Ethnographic museum and Nyanza palace in Butare en route
After breakfast, embark on the transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park 268km about 6 hours’ drive passing through the lush countryside landscapes of southern Rwanda before making a stop in Butare to visit the Ethnographic Museum which is the largest Museum in Rwanda with over 100,000 artifacts that bring out the history and traditions of Rwanda in detail. After this encounter, you embark on the tour to the Nyanza palace which is a Royal home to the two Kings of Rwanda namely King Musinga and his successor King Rudahigwa.
The impressively build Kinyarwanda hut whose architecture dates back to the times of these Kings. There are also the traditional Inyambo Cows with their beautiful horns which can make a considerable parade. Retreat from the activities in Butare and embark on the transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park for relaxation, dinner, and overnight

After breakfast, embark on the transfer to Lake Kivu (Gisenyi) 294km about 7 – 8 hours’ drive driving along the Congo Nile divide with magical sceneries of the water catchment area for these two prominent rivers arising from the heart of Africa. The day-long transfer involves getting out of your vehicles and trekking for some distance enjoying the thrill of this beautiful landscape on foot. The views of Lake Kivu and the resort towns of Kibuye and Cyangungu before approaching the Nyungwe forest are rewarding. Retire for dinner and overnight

Day 8: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park & do a night game drive
After a relaxed breakfast, embark on the transfer to Lake Mburo National Park 199km about 5 – 6 hours’ drive. You drive through impressive countryside landscapes of south western Uganda before approaching Mbarara town – the largest in the sub-region 45km to Lake Mburo NP. You drive further for 12km to make a traditional lunch at Igongo Cultural Center after which you will connect to Lake Mburo National Park to check-in at the lodge and settle for short relaxation and dinner.
At 7 pm, you embark on the night game drive in the savannah landscapes of Lake Mburo National Park with the possibilities of exploring nocturnal Species including hare, porcupine, Aardvark, white-tailed mongoose, honey badger, side–stripped jackal, bush pig, spotted hyena, serval cat, Jenet cat, civet, thick-tailed Galago and black galago. You also have the chance of viewing the day hunters and grazers having a night’s rest. Retire for overnight

Day 9: Do a morning game walking safari and transfer to Kampala
After your early morning breakfast at 6:00 am, you will undertake a 2-hour nature walk-the most interesting game walks in the country that will expose you to various species of primates, birds, antelopes like elands, waterbucks, Impala, Topis, Bushbuck, Klipspringer among others, buffaloes, Rothschild giraffe, Burchell’s Zebra, wart hogs among other species not forgetting the beautiful savannah landscape dotted with great acacia.
Retreat from the activity which may last 3 hours and embark on the transfer to Entebbe International Airport 280km about 4 – 5 hours’ drive making a stop at Uganda Equator crossing Kayabwe for magical photo shoots where one leg can be placed in the north sphere and the other remains in the south. It is also an impressive site for purchasing memorabilia to take back home as a remembrance of this safari in Uganda.
The lunch will also be arranged at the equator. You arrive in Kampala in the evening for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 10: Do half-day white water rafting & bungee jumping on the Nile River Jinja
Transfer to Jinja early in the morning 80km about 2 hours’ drive from Kampala to catch up with the white water rafting on the famous Nile River the longest on the African continent and the world at large. You get to your rafts with the team of expert guides to traverse the speedy waters clashing the ancient rapids to produce a plume of spray and powerful waves that hit you ruthlessly after encountering you on their way.
Rafting on the Nile is a safe and adventurous encounter that qualifies to be among the active adventure vacation safari activities in Uganda. Retreat from the half-day rafting experience and connect to the bungee jumping site for an afternoon bungee jumping experience. You are tied with the latex rubber in the ankles that allows you to slope for over 44m down the waters of the Nile from the cliff safely.
