11 Days Uganda Safari – SAFARI DETAIL

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls NP, visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary en route

Welcome to East Africa!  Your fantastic 11 days Uganda safari gorilla trekking & wildlife tour will kick off with breakfast at your hotel at 6:00 am after which you will meet our Prime safari driver-guide for a briefing about the day’s journey to Murchison Falls National Park, which we will be visiting first. From a naturalist’s perspective, Murchison Falls National Park really is a paradise.

After the briefing, you will set off for the 7-8 hours long covering 310km but time will fly by; it is just so beautiful here! We are going to enjoy a stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda to see the near-threatened Southern White Rhinoceros (Ceratotherium simum) in the wild.  The experience of seeing a rhino on foot a few meters away from you is an experience you will never forget and hence we will start our mammal and bird trip lists with a bang today!

This super exciting start to our safari will be followed by lunch at nearby Kabalega dinners, and if you want to try some of the local Ugandan cuisines this is your first real chance. After lunch you make your way to Murchison falls where you will engage in a miniature game drive as you head to your lodge.

After freshening up (and maybe enjoying a dip in the pool) we will get together for a sumptuous three-course dinner and a good night’s rest under the stars in Africa.

You will be welcomed by a thunderous roar of the mighty Murchison falls as they tumble from a 43-meter fall.

As you prepare to come for your Uganda gorilla adventure, please do some exercises so that you prepare your body for gorilla trekking which can last between 3-8 hours

In case you can’t walk for a very long time, you shouldn’t really worry about not being able to do gorilla trekking because there are potters who can carry you throughout at a small extra cost.

Carry your sunscreen lotion to keep your skin safe from the tropical heat & sun rays

When you get to the gorillas, don’t make noise because this agitates the gorillas
