The flat-topped acacia trees rise above the plains and enormous granite kopjes loom in the distance, forming a classic image of typical Africa.

During the Great Migration, approximately 2 million wildebeests, gazelles, and zebras pour through the valley in a thunder of echoing hooves and a haze of red dust. But, the true beauty of Seronera is that no matter what time of year you might venture here, a whole world of life, drama, action, and wonder await! Serengeti National Park is also home to the greatest remaining concentration of plains animals in the world. Massive herds of Buffalos, Wildebeest, Zebra, Gazelle, Topi, Elephant, Impala, and Waterbuck are often seen followed by packs of African Wild Dog, Prides of Lion (the population here is over 3,000), Cheetah, Jackals, Leopard (over 1,000) and Spotted Hyaena (almost 9,000 in number).
