A mostly dry and sparsely vegetated park, Amboseli has lush wetlands where large elephant herds gather with snow-capped Kili, rising to about 5895m in the background. Its mountains, waterfalls, and streams support a variety of wildlife; Elephants, Rhinos, Colobus monkeys, Sykes monkeys, Leopards, Hyenas, Baboons, Buffalos, Warthogs, Bushbucks, Reedbucks, Giant Forest hog, Golden cat, Serval cat, Civet cat, Duiker and Bongo antelope.

The park is home to the ‘Special 5’ – Grevy’s Zebra, Reticulated Giraffe, Beisa Oryx, Gerenuk, and Somali ostrich – so-called because they’re not typically found in other Kenya game reserves.
You’ll arrive at your lodge in time for lunch. Then, venture out for an exciting afternoon drive. You stay out until sunset and hopefully you can find some predators like lions, leopards, and cheetahs as they start to become more active at this time.
Optional Samburu Village Visit: Just outside the reserve, you can visit a local Samburu village. Similar in appearance to the Masai but less known, the Samburu are a proud warrior tribe. Watch traditional Samburu dancing, and learn about Samburu tribal life.

Dotted with lakes and mountains, it’s a terrific sight to see.
You’ll arrive and check into your lodge near stunning rift valley lake (Lake Nakuru National Park) in time for lunch. After lunch, have some time to relax and then on an afternoon game drive in search of the park’s wonderful wildlife.
You might see why this great soda lake has been described as the world’s greatest ornithological spectacle; great seas of flamingos often turn the landscape a sweeping shade of pink. Flooding in recent years has unfortunately caused a decline in birdlife.
However, the park boasts substantial numbers of other species, including Rothschild’s giraffes, Hippos, Waterbucks, Reedbucks, and Gazelles. Leopards and Lions are also to be found here, and the chances of sighting one are significant.
You’ll also keep your eyes peeled for one of Africa’s most endangered creatures, the elusive Black rhinoceros. While white rhino sightings are fairly common in the park, spotting a Black rhinoceros is a real treat.

One of the few freshwater lakes in the Great Rift Valley, Lake Naivasha has floating islands of papyrus reeds and a border of flat-topped acacias. It’s also home to a healthy population of hippos and a tremendous variety of birds.
Enjoy a free afternoon to relax at the lodge with a cold drink and watch as the sun sinks and the sounds of the night emerge – owls, frogs, and nightjars – followed by a delicious dinner served next to the campfire. Step ashore at Crescent Island – a peaceful wildlife sanctuary located in the middle of the lake – and enjoy a guided stroll among giraffes, zebra, elands, impalas, and other peaceful, relaxed animals thanks to the absence of predators.
You can also opt to drive to the nearby Hells Gate National Park a haven for hiking, biking, and rock climbing and it has no predatory animals. The park features soaring cliffs, bursting gorges, dusty valleys, and pristinely sculpted volcanic columns (interestingly, it was the inspiration for the movie, ‘The Lion King’).
