On arrival, check in to your lodge/safari camp for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, go on a game drive in search of Tarangire’s wildlife.

Tarangire National Park is a beautiful park, renowned for its exclusivity away from the crowds. The Tarangire Park is particularly famous for its elephant herds of up to 300 animals. The park is named after the Tarangire River which provides the only permanent water for wildlife. Its grassy plains are dotted with the iconic Mythical baobab trees – the largest trees in Africa.

Tarangire hosts a dense wildlife population, especially during the dry season: June to September. During this time when the sun has baked all water from the surrounding landscapes, massive herds of elephants, wildebeest, hartebeest, zebra, giraffe, Buffalo, Gazelles, and impala, file in great numbers to the receding banks of the river. Predators like lions, hyenas, and leopards are drawn like a magnet to this buffet of concentrated prey.

Pass through the rural Masai villages and Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Your destination today is the Serengeti National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa. Serengeti is one of the oldest and most scientifically significant ecosystems on Earth. Its climate, vegetation, and fauna have remained mostly unchanged over the past million years.

The park boasts the highest density of large predators, including lions, leopards, and cheetahs, in the world! It has become world-famous for its annual Great Migration of up to 2 million animals, an iconic and dramatic scene in wildlife documentaries for decades, and a true bucket-list Africa safari experience.

On arrival, enjoy a game drive as you continue to your lodge or camp in central Serengeti. Have a packed lunch en route, so as to not cut into your game viewing time in this part of the Serengeti.

The area forms part of “the Great Migration” and is home to the Seronera River Valley one of the best places in Africa to see the Big Cats (lions, leopards, and cheetahs) on thrilling hunts. Reach your camp or lodge in the evening for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Endless savanna plains stretch beyond the horizon. Winding rivers meander through pools, seasonal swamps, and open fields. The dark silhouettes of umbrella-shaped acacia trees rise above the plains and colossal granite kopjes loom in the distance, forming a classic image of quintessential Africa.

During the Great Migration, about 2 million wildebeests, gazelles, and zebras pour through the valley in a thunder of echoing hooves and a haze of red dust. However, the true beauty of Seronera is that no matter what time of year you might venture here, a whole world of life, drama, action, and wonder await! It is the best place in Africa to observe lions, hyenas, leopards, and cheetahs in action!

Today, enjoy another full safari. You’ll have breakfast and lunch at the camp/lodge, with morning and afternoon game drives included. Serengeti hosts the world’s greatest remaining concentration of plains animals.

Packs of African Wild Dog, Prides of Lion (the population here is over 3,000), Cheetah, Leopard (over 1,000), and Spotted Hyaena (almost 9,000 in number) are often seen tailing the herds of Buffalo, Wildebeest, Zebra, Gazelle, Topi, Elephant, Impala, and Waterbuck.
