Day 1 of the 16 Days Uganda Tanzania Safari: Arrive in Uganda (Entebbe International Airport) and transfer to the Hotel.

Arrive in Uganda following the flight from your respective country of origin. You land at Entebbe International Airport which is the main gateway to Uganda where you will find the company representative dedicated to offer you a courteous welcome. The amazing weather and brightening atmosphere on the shores of Lake Victoria give you a remarkable first impression of Uganda. Day 2 16 Days Uganda Tanzania Safari: Fly with Aero Link Uganda from Entebbe Airport at 7 am to Kisoro Airstrip arriving at 08:55 hours. Transfer by surface to Lake Mutanda in the south of Bwindi. Do a thrilling boat cruise in the evening on Lake Mutanda.

After breakfast, embark on the transfer to Entebbe International Airport to catch up with a domestic flight to Kisoro with Aero link Uganda departing at 0745. You enjoy the impressive Ariel view of Uganda’s countryside landscapes including the wilderness of Lake Mburo National Park, community farmlands, and banana plantations before approaching the magical Kigezi Highlands whose rolling terrain and temperate climate have earned it a dub as the Switzerland of Africa. You land at 0855 at Kisoro Airstrip where you team up with the safari guide transferring to Chameleon Hill for check-in, relaxation, and lunch. In the afternoon, you embark on the thrilling boat cruise on Lake Mutanda exploring the Lava dammed lake with its range of Islands including Skelton Island where the girls that would get pregnant before marriage would be dumped and left to die. The area features magical scenic views of the Virunga massif which is a chain of 8 mountains that stretch from Uganda through Rwanda to the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Day 3 16 Days Uganda Tanzania Safari: Do gorilla trekking in Rushaga and relax at the lodge

This is a great day that will mark your re-union with your long-lost cousins – the mountain gorillas. You gather at the respective park headquarters for briefing in the morning at 8 am where you are also allocated the respective gorilla families to track. From here, you head to the forest in the company of the armed ranger guides that will lead you up the gorillas. The walk is beyond the ordinary as it involves traversing the dense jungle whose thickness would at some points necessitate using a machete to make a path, hiking the challenging landscapes some of which are steep and slippery at times under the canopy of the mature forest which forms darkness even during the day. You are treated to impressive bird songs and beautiful flowers through the experience. The encounter tends to take 2 – 8 hours depending on the gorilla movements and one hour is availed to you to have a direct touch with the gorillas. Upon approaching gorillas, their reaction is not predictable as it can include them giving you a courteous welcome, minding less about you, and charging against you. However, as a result of habituation, Mountain gorillas are always welcoming with the Silverback beating a little of his chest to demonstrate his might and also welcoming to you to the group. The young gorillas are very playful and are at times not aware of the 7m rule thus can try to draw closer to even touching on your body – save it by taking some steps away to observe the distance. You are not limited in any way to ask as many questions about gorillas and their habitats along with taking pictures so long as you have the opportunity to do so. After your one hour with the gorillas, return to the starting point and connect to the lodge for relaxation. In the evening, chilling at the lodge grounds you are treated to an optional traditional thrill performance of the local Batwa or the Bakiga that live around the park. They have magical songs and dancing styles which definitely make your evening colorful.

Day 4 16 Days Uganda Tanzania Safari: Do second gorilla trekking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi via fascinating Kigezi Highlands. Do an evening recreational wooden engine boat cruise on Lake Bunyonyi.

After breakfast, you embark on the second gorilla trekking experience where you have the option of tracking a different gorilla family and gain a different encounter than you had on the previous day. The second gorilla trek offers the opportunity to explore the mountain gorillas in detail including their behaviors, the foraging patterns among others. You retreat from the activity and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for an evening boat cruise gaining the magical views of the 29 Islands surrounded by the beautiful Kigezi Highlands dubbed the Switzerland of Africa before retiring to relax at the lodge and have dinner and overnight.

Day 5 16 Days Uganda Tanzania Safari: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Do game drive in the Ishasha sector in search of tree climbing lions.

After breakfast, embark on the transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You have a game drive in the Ishasha sector in search of tree climbing lions along with other wild games. The tree climbing lions tend to lie on fig tree branches in the mid-morning sun. After this encounter, continue on the drive to Queen Elizabeth (northern section) arriving in the evening for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 6 16 Days Uganda Tanzania Safari: Do a morning game drive in the rolling savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth NP & do an afternoon Kazinga Channel boat cruise.

After breakfast, embark on the game drive encounter at 7 am stretching to the Kasenyi area where a range of wild game might be encountered including the elephants, waterbucks, Uganda Kobs, Buffaloes, Lions, Spotted Hyenas, leopards, Bushbucks among other species. The other sights include those of birds such as Palm-nut Vulture, African White-backed Vulture, Hooded Vulture, Ruppell’s Griffon Vulture, Brown Snake Eagle, Lappet-faced Vulture, Wahlberg’s Eagle, Bateleur, Martial Eagle, Grey Kestrel, Long-created Eagle, African Crake, Black-bellied Bustard, Temminck’s Courser, Crowned Plover, Senegal Plover, African Wattled Plover among others. The view of the moist open savannah grassland is also impressive. Return from 3 – 4 hour activity and connect to the lodge for relaxation and lunch. In the afternoon, you connect to Mweya Jetty for an afternoon boat cruise commencing at 2 pm. The boat encounter on what has been termed the Paradise of hippos features impressive sights of Hippos and Nile crocodiles, birds like the African skimmer, Yellow-billed stork, and Kingfishers. The wild game can also be encountered on the channel side. Retreat from the 2-hour activity and do a game drive along the channel track as you connect back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 7 16 Days Uganda Tanzania Safari:  Relaxed breakfast and transfer to Kibale National Park. Visit the top of the world – the Ndali Kasenda Crater field with magical sceneries.

After a relaxed breakfast, embark on the transfer to Kibale National Park 157km about 3 hours’ drive excluding stops en route. You drive along with the magical scenic landscapes of the Rwenzori Mountains towering to 5,109m above sea level with snowcapped peaks standing as the third highest in Africa presenting an opportunity for remarkable sight-seeing and photography. You arrive in Kibale for lunch and short relaxation. In the afternoon, you embark on the hike to the Ndali Kasenda Crater field famously known as the top of the world. The field features more than 30 lakes and they present magical scenic views, a soothing atmosphere, and a home to a range of monkeys especially vervet monkeys and Black and white colobus monkeys that dwell in the forests that surround the edges of these lakes. Retire for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 8 16 Days Uganda Tanzania Safari: Do Chimpanzee trekking in the Primate Capital of the world – Kibale NP and then transfer to Fort Portal. Undertake an evening cycling encounter in the Tea Estates.

After breakfast, embark on the chimpanzee trekking encounter in Kibale National Park. You gather at Kanyanchu Tourism Center for briefing at 8 am by the Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers after which you head to the prehistoric forest in search of your closest cousin. Kibale National Park offers great flora concentration with 351 Species of trees some of which are 200 years old and over 55m tall. The park also supports 70 species of mammals and 13 species of Primates among which include the common chimpanzee, Black and white colobus, and red-tailed monkey. The 375 Species of birds thieve in the park including the impressive western green tinker bird, two species of pittas (African and green-breasted), olive long-tailed cuckoo, African grey parrot, and the endemic ground thrush (Turdus kibalensis). Thus makes the search for the chimpanzees beyond the ordinary. Upon encountering the chimps, you have an opportunity to see them munch fruit, hunt, patrol, copulate, young ones playing, make pant hooting calls among other interesting aspects for one full hour. The exciting moments with the chimps will leave you with no other option but to be active with your cameras to make a reserve of remarkable photos that will always take you back to the memories of this wonderful moment. Retreat from the activity and connect to the lodge for lunch after which you embark on the transfer to Fort Portal 26km about 1 – 2 hours’ drive arriving in the afternoon. You check-in at Mountains of the Moon Hotel and can spend the afternoon relaxing in the extensive gardens, swimming in the pool, or playing a range of indoor games provided. Those interested in active adventures can undertake tea estate cycling in the nearby Mpanga tea estate. You explore the impressive undulating green tea estates where you can also engage in tea plucking encounters with the estate staff before retreating to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 9 16 Days Uganda Tanzania Safari: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park. Whole day drive. Optional Charter flight from Kasese to Pakuba Airstrip in Murchison.

After breakfast, embark on the drive to Murchison Falls National Park 441km about 9 hours drive. You explore the lush green countryside with a lunch stop in Hoima town. Arrive at Paraa in the evening for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 10 16 Days Uganda Tanzania Safari: Do a morning game drive in the northern section of the park marked by open savannah with patches of Borassus palm, undertake a Nile launch cruise in the afternoon, and eventually hike to the top of the world’s powerful waterfall.

After breakfast at the lodge, you embark on the game exploration in the northern section of Murchison Falls National Park where the myriad of wildlife is known to thrive. The drive-in a customized safari vehicle offers you an opportunity to explore the myriad of wild game including the giant African savannah elephants, the Cape Buffaloes, the Rothschild Giraffe, the Lions, the Leopards, the Jackson’s Hartebeest, the Oribis, and the Uganda Job. The game drive takes about 3 – 4 hours. In the afternoon, you connect to Paraa Jetty for an afternoon Nile Launch Cruise. The afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the falls is not only recreation but also another avenue to explore the myriad of wildlife including aquatics like Nile crocodiles, the Hippos, and the impressive Shoebill stork that thrives on the banks of the Nile. The 2-hour boat trip also offers possibilities of exploring wild games like elephants, Buffaloes, waterbucks among others drinking on the riverside. Upon reaching the bottom of the falls, you disembark from the boat and hike to the top of the falls. You follow a narrow challenging path walking past the sights and sounds of the Nile River as it splashes its head on the rocks that have narrowed its path to less than 7m ravines before falling 43m below the Devils Cauldron generating a plume of spray marked by a trademark rainbow. You connect with the driver guide at the top and then drive to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 11 16 Days Uganda Tanzania Safari: Fly from Pakuba Airfield at 8:15 hours to Entebbe International Airport at 09:15 hours to catch up with a flight to Tanzania – Kilimanjaro International Airport

You undertake another morning game drive and then transfer to Pakuba Airstrip to catch up with a flight to Entebbe departing at 08:15 arriving at 09:15 hours. In the afternoon, get on a flight (fast jet) to Kilimanjaro Airport.

Day 12 16 Days Uganda Tanzania Safari:  Undertake a Village walk and wild game viewing safari in Lake Manyara National Park.

After breakfast, embark on the transfer to Lake Manyara National Park and upon arrival, you take up a village walk in the Mto Wa Mbu where you have an opportunity to explore the local community and their traditions including methods of food preparation, local banana beer brewing, the Makonde wood carvings and eventually settling for a traditional lunch which you participated in its preparation. In the afternoon, you enter the park for a game drive offering possible views of tree climbing lions, Zebras, warthog, baboon, giraffe, elephant, impala, hippo, and wildebeest. Retire for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

The game drive commences upon entering the park gates until you approach the lodge for overnight.

Standing as a UNESCO world heritage site, Ngorongoro crater still features its ancient landscape with a largely intact and inactive unfilled volcanic caldera and among the few places on earth where a diverse and great animal concentration can be explored.
