Nairobi is the capital and largest city of Kenya with a population of over 4 million.  If your flight arrives early in the day, there are a variety of optional activities in the city for you to enjoy:-

Day 2: Drive to Samburu National Reserve, Afternoon Game Drive

Day two of the 19 Days Kenya Safari & Mombasa Beach Tour begins at 8.00 am after a delicious breakfast at the hotel. You will then leave the bustling city of Nairobi and take a very scenic drive of about 5 hours north to the quiet, peaceful, semi-arid, and pristine wilderness of Samburu National Reserve.

You will travel past the Mount Kenya National Park, established in the 1940s to preserve Mount Kenya, Africa’s second tallest mountain (after Kilimanjaro) at 5,199m above sea level. You’ll arrive in time for lunch at your lodge in the next 2 nights. After lunch, have some time to rest. At 4 pm, enjoy a game drive.

You will have a chance to see the rare and iconic “Samburu Special Five”– Reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Beisa oryx, long-necked Gerenuk, and blue-necked Somali Ostrich – as well as more familiar animals such as Lion, Elephant, Cheetah, Buffalo, Warthogs, Waterbuck, Crocodiles, Hippos, Hyena, and Leopard.

Day 4: Drive Ol Pejeta Wildlife Conservancy, Afternoon Game Drive & Visit Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary.

After the final breakfast at Samburu, take a beautiful slow drive of about 3-4 hours south to Ol Pejeta Conservancy

You’ll arrive in time for lunch and leisure at your camp. In the afternoon, go on a game drive to learn more about this wonderful wildlife reserve and experience its unique flora and fauna. Ol Pejeta is a premier 360km2 not-for-profit wildlife reserve in Laikipia Plateau, in the foothills of Mount Kenya.

The conservancy works to conserve wildlife, provide a sanctuary for great apes and generate income through wildlife tourism and complementary enterprises for re-investment in conservation and community development.

Ol Pejeta is home to over 10,000 large animals, including all of the Big Five, and has a successful community development program, providing funding to surrounding communities to aid health, education, water, and infrastructure projects.

You’ll also visit the Sweet Waters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, a refuge for rescued, orphaned, abandoned, and abused chimpanzees, mostly victims of the illegal pet trade in Central, East, and West Africa. These highly intelligent great apes share 98% of our genetic make-up and are considered our closest living cousins.

With the highest wildlife-to-area ratio of any Kenyan game park, you’ll have a thrilling wildlife experience in Ol Pejeta. The conservancy boasts the largest black rhino population in East Africa, as well as the only place to see chimpanzees in Kenya. Ol Pejeta also has a population of southern white rhinos, the last 2 northern white rhinos on Earth, and all the Big 5 animals. It also has one of the greatest densities of predators in Kenya. About 70 Lions, 30 cheetahs, 100 Spotted Hyenas, 20 Leopards, and 33 African wild dogs inhabit the reserve.

You will also look for the Jackals, Bat-eared foxes, fringe-eared Oryxes, zebras, giraffes, gazelles, hartebeests, hippos, baboons, elands, bushbucks, and warthogs. There are also over 300 different bird species, including Abyssinian Scimitarbill, Taita fiscal, and common ostrich.

You’ll return to your camp for lunch and some relaxation in the hottest hours of the day.  You then set out again on an afternoon in search of more Ol Pejeta wildlife, returning in the evening for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 6: Travel to Lake Nakuru National Park, Afternoon Game Drive.

After a tasty breakfast day on day six of the 19 Days Kenya Safari Mombasa Beach Tour, embark on a drive of about 5 hours south across the Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park, one of Kenya’s most attractive parks.

You will make a stop at Thomson’s falls in Nyahururu to stretch your legs and watch the waters of the Ewaso Ng’iro River plunge 72 meters (236 feet) in a magnificent cascade. Arrive at Lake Nakuru in time for lunch.

Freshen up, have a delicious meal, and take some time to rest. In the late afternoon, enjoy a game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park.

A bird lover’s paradise, twitchers have the chance to spot some of the more than 500 recorded species, including the park’s flocks of pelicans and flamingos with their pretty pink plumes. Please note: Nakuru was formerly famous for the millions of flamingos that covered the lake with their pink plumes. However, since the major flooding of 2014, fewer flamingos choose to feed or breed here.

Spend a whole day on thrilling game drives exploring the spectacular, wildlife-rich Masai Mara National Reserve. You’ll have plenty of drinking water available and a picnic lunch so you can properly enjoy a full day of adventure.

Your safari will begin before sunrise. Wildlife is most active in the early morning and late hours of the day. If you are fortunate, you might even see predators hunting during these hours, for example, a leopard stalking an impala, a cheetah chasing and knocking down a gazelle, or a lion hunting and killing a wildebeest. And, of course, if you visit between July and October, you may be able to see one of nature’s most spectacular phenomena – the Great Wildebeest Migration

The lake is flanked by flat-topped acacia trees and is home to a large number of hippos and bird species. On arrival, you freshen up and enjoy lunch. You will have a free afternoon at leisure at the lodge and watch as the sun sinks and the sounds of the night emerge, followed by a delicious dinner.

This is one of the hugest protected wilderness areas in the world, covering over 2000,000 hectares combining Tsavo east and Tsavo West national parks!

Named after the Tsavo River that runs through Tsavo West before joining the Athi River to form the Galana River, this massive ecosystem is best known for its stories of man-eating lions and admired for its iconic red dust-coated African elephants, but you can spot the other Big 5 animals too – leopards, buffalos, and rhinos.

Day 16: Transfer to Mombasa Dian Beach for Relaxation.

After experiencing the thrill of a classic safari in the African bush, it’s time to unwind on the gorgeous Diani Beach, south of Mombasa.

Relax and watch the fishing dhows cruise over the Indian Ocean’s turquoise blue waters. You may dine on delicious seafood dishes combined with fine wines before falling asleep to the relaxing sounds of the ocean.

If you are feeling energetic there is kite surfing, windsurfing, canoeing, deep sea fishing, and traditional dhow sailing boat excursions to Kisite Marine National Park to discover an underwater world of fascinating marine life on a scuba diving or snorkeling excursion along the pristine coral reef.

On land, you can search for forest elephants in the Shimba Hills National Park, take a walk through the forest adjacent to the shoreline and watch colobus monkeys swinging in the tree canopies, go quad-biking, or enjoy the nearby 18-hole course.
