2 Days Murchison Falls Safari Uganda Tour − DETAILED SAFARI ITINERARY

Day 1 of the 2 Days Murchison Falls Safari: Transfer To Murchison Falls National Park. Visit The Stop Of The Falls And Afternoon Nile Launch Cruise.

We will start our day with an early breakfast in the hotel at around 6.30 am and then embark on a 311km (5 hours) drive northwest to Murchison Falls National Park. We drive along with the impressive landscapes of Nakasongola district crossing the Kafu River and passing by the verdant Budongo Forest. Upon arrival, you drive to the top of Murchison Falls and marvel at these world’s most powerful waterfalls.

The Murchison falls have been described as the most spectacular thing to happen to the Nile along its entire 6,650km length. The 50-meter wide river forces itself through a 7 meter wide cleft in the rift valley escarpment before falling 45 meters to what has been termed the “devil’s cauldron” below, forming a plume of spray marked by a thunderous roar and a permanent rainbow. It is a truly unforgettable experience! After this incredibly exciting activity, we will connect to Paraa Jetty to catch up with the Nile launch cruise to the bottom of the falls.

The Nile launch cruise offers you an opportunity to explore the calm waters of the Nile River as they approach the delta area gaining views of the aquatic Species like Nile crocodiles and Hippos not forgetting the lucky sights of pre-historic looking shoebill storks, the most eagerly sought after of all African birds. The boat stops at the bottom of Murchison Falls where you will enjoy one of the magical sceneries in Uganda. Retreat from the activity and connect to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

The highlight of the day: – Tracking in wild white Rhinos in Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary on foot.

Day 2 of the 2 Days Murchison Falls Safari: Enjoy A Morning Game Drive & Transfer Back To Kampala With A Stop At Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary For Rhino Tracking.

We start our day with an early breakfast and then connect to the rolling savannah landscapes of Murchison Falls National Park for an impressive morning game drive in the northern part of the park. The activity which commences at 7.00 a.m takes you to the haven of the wild game catching up with them before they disperse off completely to graze and hunt. You follow the designated tracks including the Buligi, Albert, Queen, Pakuba among others stretching to the delta area gaining impressive views of wildlife and the landscapes. The possible sights include Lions, Rothschild’s giraffes, Elephants, Buffalos, Jackson’s Hartebeest, Oribi, Uganda Kobs among others. You retreat from the activity that lasts 3 – 4 hours and cross with the ferry at 11 am to embark on the drive to Kampala.

You will branch off at Nakitooma after a 115km drive, diverting from the main road for 7km to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where you are welcomed and taken to the wild on foot to track the white Rhinos. Here, you have the opportunity to encounter the white Rhinos only here in the whole of Uganda that was reintroduced in the year 2005 following their extinction in the year 1982.

Trekking the 22 southern white Rhinos that thrive in their natural savannah thicket as you walk past beautiful flora, amazing landscapes and birds presents a rewarding encounter that is worth undertaking. Retreat from the activity and continue on the drive to Kampala arriving to mark the end of the tour.

The highlight of the day: – The early morning game drive in Murchison and Rhino tracking in Ziwa Sanctuary.
