Day 1: Transfer To Jinja. Visit Ssezibwa Falls, Mabira Forest & Take A Boat Cruise To The Source Of The Nile.

You’ll be picked up from the hotel in Kampala at 6.30 am so that you avoid the morning traffic jam in the city and be able to do all the day’s activities in time without rushing. Your highlight of the day is the boat cruise to the source of the River Nile in Jinja.

However, en route to Jinja, you visit interesting spots, beginning with Ssezibwa Falls, a beautiful serene waterfalls that is a significant cultural heritage site of Buganda Kingdom. Take a 1 guided hike to explore the waterfalls and surrounding wildlife. Also, learn about the cultures and traditions associated with the waterfalls.

Then continue to Mabira Forest which is home to a variety of monkeys and birds. Go on a 2-hour forest walk to get up close to beautiful nature. After Mabira, continue to Jinja and have lunch by the Nile. After lunch, you’ll take a boat trip to the Source of the River Nile – the world’s longest river.

Day 3: Sipi Falls Hike & Coffee Tour Experience.

Wake up for breakfast then start your Sipi Falls hike at about 8 am. Sipi is made up of a series of 3 pretty waterfalls created by the Sipi River as it cascades downstream from the top of Mount Elgon into the Kyoga Basin.

You’ll hike to each of the waterfalls, begging with the topmost coming down to the last one, which is the biggest falling 100m. The trek to each of the 3 waterfalls covers about a 7km trail and can be done in 3 hours on average.

Return to the lodge for relaxation and lunch. After lunch, go on the coffee tour to learn about the entire coffee process at a nearby family farm. Pick the coffee berries, deshell and grind them with a traditional mortar and pestle, and roast them on an open fire, before – the best part – finishing with a fine cup of strong Arabica coffee.

Day 4: Drive To Kidepo National Park Via Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve.

At 6.30 am, wake up for an early breakfast and begin your long drive northeast to Kidepo National Park. After about an hour’s journey from Sipi Falls, visit Pian Upe Reserve for your first safari experience. Pian Upe is one of the unspoiled Uganda safari attractions-spots/tourist attractions in Uganda, yet to be explored.

Go on a game drive to witness the wildlife, and some of the wildlife you’ll encounter include zebras, antelopes, and buffaloes. If you’re lucky, you might spot a Cheetah. Day 5: Unlimited Game Drives In Kidepo Valley National Park.

After breakfast at 6 am, enjoy a full-day safari game drive in Kidepo. Kidepo is home to several wildlife species that cannot be seen in any other Uganda national parks such as Ostriches, Cheetahs, Bat-eared Fox, Black-backed Jackal, Caracal, Kudus, etc. Other wildlife includes lions, Leopards Elephants, Buffalos, Zebra, Giraffe, Elands, Waterbuck, Hartebeest, Warthog, and nearly 500 bird species!

You’ll start your game drive in Narus valley in the south of the park. The valley contains the permanent water sources of the park and is the greenest part of the park. It, therefore, has the most animals in Kidepo.

After breakfast at 6 am, go on a 4-hour game drive in Murchison Falls NP, Uganda’s largest park. The park is bisected by River Nile on which the powerful Murchison Falls is located which gives the park its name.

You’ll explore the park’s beautiful northern section, which contains over 80% of the park’s wild animals. Look out for Giraffes, Buffalo, Elephants, Lions, Antelopes, Warthogs, Patas Monkeys, Leopards, Baboons, Hyenas, Warthogs, etc.

While the delta is home to many species of water birds in Uganda, the ultimate prize is sighting the shoebill. Even those not normally excited by birdlife won’t want to miss out on spotting this ancient-looking bird.

After early breakfast, transfer to the park visitor center in Kibale National Park for a Uganda chimpanzee trekking adventure. Chimpanzee trekking gives you a rare opportunity to see chimps in the forest instead of in a zoo.

Kibale is the prime destination for chimp safaris in Africa as it offers over 97% chance to see them. You’ll meet the park guides by 7 am at the park office and embark on a 2-5 hour trek in the forest to track a community of chimps. Make a stopover at Igongo Cultural Centre in Mbarara town for a traditional lunch and thereafter proceed to Lake Mburo, the smallest of the savannah parks but its diversity is very impressive. The park is famous for the presence of many herbivores such as Giraffes, Zebras, Impalas, Elands, Buffaloes, Waterbuck, Bushbuck, Warthogs, etc. You’ll then continue to your accommodation. Later set out for an evening game drive.
