Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park. Visit Nyanza Palace & Butare National Museum en route

Settle for breakfast after which you transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park 268km about 6 hours’ drive driving through scenic landscapes en route.  You will make a stop at Nyanza Palace to explore the home of the last two kings of Rwanda namely; King Rudahigwa and his father King Musinga with beautifully built architectural hut, Royal instruments, and Inyambo cows.

You proceed to Butare for lunch and visit the Ethnographic Museum – the largest Museum in Rwanda with over 100,000 artifacts. Proceed to Nyungwe Forest National Park Rwanda for relaxation, dinner, and overnight

Day 2 of the 20 Days Scheduled Group Uganda Rwanda Primate, Adventure, Wildlife & Culture Safari: Do Adventure Nyungwe Canopy walk & transfer to Volcanoes National Park. Sightseeing of the Congo Nile divide trail

At 8 am, you engage in the Nyungwe Canopy walk. This is a 200m walkway through the lush Afro forest canopy gaining good sight of birds, primates, and good flora. Noted to be the first of its kind in East Africa, this adventure walkway is an adrenaline activity with a very rewarding experience. The activity lasts 2 hours maximum after which you transfer to Volcanoes National Park 244km about 6 – 7 hours’ drive enjoying the sights of the Rwandan countryside including the Congo Nile trail and the shores of Lake Kivu.

Day 3: Do Golden Monkey Trekking in Volcanoes National Park & transfer to Uganda – Bwindi Impenetrable NP. Enjoy incredible views of Virunga Volcanoes & fascinating Kigezi Highlands en route

The golden Monkey trekking starts at 7 am from Kinigi with a briefing after which you set off to the forest to explore the endangered Golden Monkeys another species of Primates only thriving in Uganda, Rwanda, and Congo. The golden Monkey trek lasts 4 hours with one hour of actual viewing exploring them as they jump from branch to branch and from one tree to another in the Bamboo zone on the slopes of Mount Sabyinyo.

From the activity, you transfer to Uganda crossing via the Cyanica border enjoying incredible views of Virunga Volcanoes and fascinating Kigezi Highlands.

Day 4: Do Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable NP & relax

20 Days Scheduled Uganda Rwanda Group TourAfter a briefing at 8 am, you follow the rugged terrain with steep hills and narrow valleys with dense forest cover as you look out for the Mountain Gorillas that are critically endangered the world over.

The gorilla trek can last 2 – 8 hours but with one hour of actual gorilla viewing as they socialize, forage and demonstrate other behaviors as you take counts of photos. From the activity, you spend the afternoon at leisure.

Day 5: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, do canoe paddle explore the Island Communities & the fishermen

Slope down to Lake Bunyonyi enjoying the views of Kigezi Highlands – famously known as the Switzerland of Africa and Virunga Volcanoes at a distance.  Upon arrival at Lake Bunyonyi – the lake of a thousand Islands because of its count of 29 Islands, you take up a canoe ride exploring this amazing lake, hopping between Islands and visiting the Islands to view the way of life of the Islanders and their traditions. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 6: Transfer to Ishasha sector in the south of Queen Elizabeth National Park & do a game drive in search of tree-climbing lions

After breakfast, transfer via Kabale and Kanungu to Ishasha sector in the south of Queen Elizabeth National Park Uganda 177km about 4 hours drive. Upon arrival, engage in an extensive game drive in search of tree climbing lions and other wild game. Ishasha sector is re-known for the population of tree climbing lions which is a rare occurrence across the world.

Day 7: Another game drive in Ishasha sector & transfer to Mweya for an afternoon Kazinga Channel launch cruise

Start off the game drive in the early hours of the morning in search of Elephants, Buffaloes, the Defassa waterbucks, Kobs, and Topis, and most especially the famous tree-climbing lions that have made the Ishasha sector beyond the ordinary. They tend to lie on the branches of fig trees overlooking their prey in the plains below.

The game drive will be done in the morning, drive to upper Queen about 3 hours’ drive for a hot lunch at Tembo restaurant. In the afternoon, you gather at Mweya jetty for an afternoon boat cruise starting at 2 pm for Marasa for 2 hours.

The encounter offers you the opportunity of encountering the Nile crocodiles, the Hippos, and water birds along the channel. The wild game also tends to come to the channel shores to quench their thirst. Retreat from that and do a game drive along the channel track as you connect to the lodge for overnight

Day 8: Morning game drive in Kasenyi sector in the north of Queen Elizabeth NP & transfer to Kasese

Drive to the rolling plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park with its extensive savannah grassland for an amazing game viewing experience after breakfast. The drive through the Kasenyi tracks enables you to explore a range of game including the elephants, lions, buffaloes, leopards, water bucks, side stripped jackals among other species.

The activity tends to last 3 – hours after which you transfer to Kasese. You are welcomed by the incredible views of the Rwenzori Mountains.

Day 9: Adventure hike to the Rwenzori Mountains for the whole day.  Explore the foothills of the legendary mountains of the moon & transfer to Kibale NP

The day hike to the legendary Mountains of the moon departs at Nyakalengija park station at 8 am presenting an opportunity to explore the foothills of Africa’s third-highest Mountain rising to 5,109m above sea level with snowcapped peaks.

Because Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Kenya are free-standing, Mount Rwenzori stands as the tallest Mountain range on the continent of Africa. The sights of vegetation on the lower slopes, birds, Albertine rift flats below & local settlements.

You enjoy a picnic lunch and you will transfer later in the evening to Kibale National Park 135km about 2 hour drive enjoying the incredible views of the Ndali Kasenda crater field.

Day 10: Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale NP & afternoon Bigodi wetland walk for traditional food experience & conservation experience

Take up the Chimpanzee trekking experience departing Kanyanchu Tourism Center in Kibale National Park at 8 am and in the company of the armed park ranger guides, you head to the rain forest in search of these Great Apes recorded to be the closest species to humans in terms of DNA.

After 2 – 5 hours trek in the lush forest with other primate species like Black and white colobus, and 375 species of birds, the one full hour spent with the Chimpanzees as they forage, play, mate, patrol, make pant hooting calls among others while taking amazing photoshoots, lasting memories will be generated.

From the activity, you settle for lunch and later embark on an exciting eco-community tour experience to the Bigodi community. Enjoy a guided wetland walk for lush flora and birds exploring how the community has come together to conserve this natural feature and the adjacent Kibale Forest. Explore the community’s way of life learning about their traditions.

Connect to Fort Portal, get the bikes, and proceed to Amabere caves for an amazing cycling experience traversing the Fort Portal Crater field with scenic crater lakes and hollows. Murchison is Uganda’s largest National Park bisected by River Nile – the world’s longest River in two leaving the great Murchison Falls – the world’s most powerful waterfall in the park.

Settle for lunch & undertake a rewarding game drive in the afternoon exploring its beautiful open savannah landscapes and home to Rothschild Giraffes, Hartebeest, Lions, Cape Buffalos, Oribis, Kobs, and Leopard among others

Day 13: Extensive morning game drive in Murchison Falls NP, afternoon Nile launch cruise & hike to the top of the falls

Embark on the game drive at 7 am in the northern sector of the park gaining rich possibilities of spotting Elephants, Rothschild Giraffes, Lion, Buffalo, Jackson’s Hartebeest, Leopard, Oribis, Kobs, and waterbucks among others.

The activity lasts 3 – 4 hours and at 2 pm, the Nile launch cruise departs at Paraa Jetty to the bottom of the falls cruising on the world’s longest river. Upon arrival at the bottom of the falls, you embark on the hike to the top of the world’s most powerful waterfall enjoying the incredible views of the Nile River as it forces itself to make way through a less than 7m ravine after which it falls 43m below to the Devil’s Cauldron generating a plume of spray with a thunderous roar and a trademark rainbow.

Meet your guide at the top of the falls and transfer to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight

Day 14: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park. Enjoy en-route landscapes       

Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park Uganda 347km about 7hours enjoying the views of the rural landscapes of northern Uganda including the remains of the infamous Kony war.  Arrive in the evening for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 15: A day of game drive in Kidepo Valley National Park; morning & afternoon game drive

Depart the lodge after breakfast for an extensive wild game viewing in the less explored landscapes of Kidepo National Park traversing the famous Narus Valley stretching up to Kanangarok hot springs.

The wildlife to look out for include; elephants, lions, Buffaloes, Rothschild giraffes, cheetah, greater and lesser kudu, eland, black-backed and side-striped jackals, leopard, spotted hyena, warthog, Burchell’s zebra, bushbuck, Defassa waterbuck, bush duiker, oribi, Bohor reedbuck, and Jackson’s hartebeest.

The stretch to the hot spring Area is good for spotting the Ostrich. It’s a morning and afternoon game viewing experience.

Day 16: Authentic cultural experience with the Indigenous Karimojong in the Morungole Mountains  
Take up a lasting authentic culture to the Indigenous Karimojong on the great hills of Mount Morungole. This is one of the indigenous tribes of Africa and because of their remote dwelling place, they still feature their original traditions including family setting, norms, and marriage practices among others.

It’s an active adventure to the Mountains and it’s a whole day experience with great sightseeing as well.

Day 17: Transfer to Sipi Falls. Enjoy the scenic en-route landscapes

Day 18: Do Sipi Falls Hike & transfer to Jinja
