Day 1 of the 3 Days Mountain Gorilla Trekking Safari in Congo: Transfer from Kampala to Goma/Kigali to Bukima Virunga NP

Following breakfast at your place of stay in Kampala/Kigali, you embark on the drive to the South enjoying the picturesque landscape before making a stop at Uganda Equator crossing Kayabwe where you can evidence the geographical divide between the north and southern hemispheres and taking remarkable photos. Proceed on the drive exploring the impressive landscapes of Ankole dotted with the long Horned Ankole cattle along with Zebras and Impala straying from the adjacent Lake Mburo National Park. Traditional lunch stop is made at Igongo Cultural Center while the fascinating Kigezi Highlands will offer you an evening welcome as you settle in Kisoro at the back yard of the Virunga Volcanoes for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

The journey is about 11 hours drive from Kampala to Goma with stops and 6 hrs from Kigali to Bukima Virunga NP

Day 2 of the 3 Days Mountain Gorilla Trekking Safari in Congo: Undertake Mountain gorilla trekking in Virunga National Park & transfer back to Kisoro

Take your early morning breakfast and carry your packed lunch with enough water then drive for 2 hrs from Goma if you slept at Ihusi Hotel OR drive for 1hr if you slept at Mikeno Lodge OR walk to the tracking point for 5 mins-if you slept at Bukima Tented Camp to the Virunga National Park headquarters for  in particular to catch up with briefing about the gorilla trek. The briefing is conducted by the Park rangers after which you set off to the forest in search of the critically endangered Mountain gorillas.  The close up experience is limited to one full hour presenting remarkable opportunities for photography and observation. PLEASE DO NOT FORGET YOUR PACKED LUNCH WITH WATER!.

After the Gorilla trek trip in Congo`s Virunga National Park Forest we shall transfer you back to your lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight
