Day 1: Transfer From Arusha to Ngorongoro Conservation Area & Do a Crater Tour.
Your affordable short 3 days Tanzania safari tour starts with pickup from your Arusha hotel at 7.00 am or at Kilimanjaro International Airport latest by 9.00 am. This will allow enough time for you to transfer to Ngorongoro Crater (about a 4-5-hour drive).
En route, you will pass beautiful Maasai Villages. The name Ngorongoro actually comes from the Maasai; the Maasai pastoralists named the area after the sound produced by the cowbell (ngoro ngoro)!
You’ll also drive through the town of Karatu, a small, colorful town that serves as a popular overnight stop for visitors exploring the area’s many game parks. You will reach in time for a late lunch at your lodge.
After lunch, have some time to relax and go on a game drive. Descend 2000 feet to the crater floor and look for the mammals and birds that call the inside of Ngorongoro Crater their home. It is an unforgettable experience!

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) covers some 809,440 hectares adjacent to the legendary Serengeti plains. The conservation area’s main feature is the Ngorongoro Crater. This world’s largest unbroken volcanic crater was voted as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa by the Seven Natural Wonders organization in 2013. After a leisurely breakfast today, visit a Maasai village (Boma) in the Ngorongoro Crater highlands. Spend time with the villagers, find out about their unique way of life, and join in their lively singing and dancing.
Learn about some of the customary practices such as fire-making and beadwork. You can also purchase handmade leather and beadwork from the villagers.
