Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park & track Chimpanzees in Kalinzu Forest Reserve on the outskirts of Queen Elizabeth National Park      

2 Days Budget Uganda Safari to Queen Elizabeth National ParkThe Uganda gorilla trek and a Uganda Wildlife safari start early at 6:30 am from your place of stay in Kampala after breakfast the safari guide will pick you up to head to Queen Elizabeth National Park 417km about 7-hour drive in the southwest of Uganda.

Drive from Kampala City towards the west and have a stop at the Equator for handicrafts and amazing photos plus demonstrations that justify the geographical separation between the north and the southern hemisphere. After this continue with your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park fronted by the magnificent Rwenzori Mountain in the Rwenzori Mountains National Park range for much of your journey.

On the outskirts, you connect to the Kalinzu Forest Reserve for an afternoon Chimpanzee trekking experience. You explore the amazing apes which feature 98.8% of the human DNA making them our closest cousins.

The verdant forest of Kalinzu features impressive flora, birds, and other primate species including black and white colobus monkeys, olive baboons, and red-tailed, blue, and L’Hoest monkeys which can as well be explored on the chimpanzee trekking encounter.

The chimp trek can take 2 – 5 hours inclusive of one hour of direct viewing after which you connect to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight. An optional evening game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park can be undertaken if time allows.

Day 2: Do a morning game drive and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

The day starts with breakfast, then embark on an early morning game drive along Kasenyi track and Queen’s mile in the park. You have the possibility of exploring cape Buffaloes, Elephants Topi, Kobs, Warthogs, Waterbucks, hyenas, Leopards, as well as lions, and lots of Birds.

After the game drive, embark on the trip to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Ishasha. Along the road, via Ishasha you have chances to spot tree-climbing lions found in this section in the whole of Uganda and Ishasha’s short trees offer rewarding close looks other than that of Lake Manyara in Tanzania where the tree-climbing lions are also found on a world scale.

After an early morning breakfast, you connect to the park headquarters at Rushaga to catch up with a briefing at 8 am by the ranger guide after which you start your Uganda gorilla trekking safari, you will enter into the amazing rainforest (gorilla sanctuary) as it offers an exciting, heavily forested and dense landscape interacted by plenty of animal trails that provide access for tourists tracking these resident animals.

Uganda Mammals here include mainly the endangered mountain gorillas, elephants, giant forest hogs, black-fronted Duikers, bushbucks, and leopards to mention but a few. The charming mountain gorillas form the highlight of the park, the time and terrain/track taken while looking for these beautiful primates varies according to their movements.

You arrive at Lake Bunyonyi in the afternoon; and undertake a thrilling boat cruise on the second deepest lake in Africa marked with a range of 29 Islands that have earned it a dub as the lake of a thousand Islands.

After breakfast, embark on the transfer to Kampala 437km about 7 hours drive from Lake Bunyonyi. You make a stop at Igongo Cultural Center for traditional lunch and then you can have an optional drive through Lake Mburo National Park for views of wild game like Rothschild giraffes, Elands, Zebras, Topis, Warthogs, defassa waterbucks, and Impala among others.

You proceed to make another stop at the Uganda Equator Line crossing Kayabwe for amazing photo shoots where one leg is in the northern hemisphere and the other in the southern hemisphere. The site also has good souvenir shops where you can secure your memorabilia about Uganda before continuing on the drive to arrive in Kampala in the evening.
