4 Days Luxury Uganda Fishing Safari − DETAILED SAFARI ITINERARY

Day 1 of the 4 Days Luxury Uganda Fishing Safari: Transfer To Murchison Falls National Park & Undertake An Afternoon Game Drive.

The first day of our 4 days luxury Uganda fishing safari starts with a breakfast at your place of stay in Kampala at 6.30am. We then get into our comfortable 4X4 Luxury extended Land Cruiser and embark on a 311km (5-6 hours) drive to the northwest of Uganda to Murchison Falls National Park. We will drive through the former battle zone of the Luwero Triangle, passing through the impressive rural landscapes of Uganda with lush green cover, scattered human settlement, towns and markets where you will see people going on with their daily life.

We arrive at Parra jetty, cross the Nile River with the ferry and connect to Paraa Safari Lodge for lunch overlooking the Nile and relax. At around 4 pm, we will embark on 1 – 2 hours evening game drive in the northern section of the park that offers you rewarding encounters of amazing wildlife including the four of the Big Five (Elephants, Buffalos, Lions and Leopards), Rothschild’s giraffes, Uganda Kobs, Jackson’s Hartebeests, Oribis and several fantastic birds such as Black-headed lapwings, Black-billed barbets, Secretary birds, Palm-nut vultures, and Red-throated bee-eater

The extensive savannah landscape of northern Murchison intercepted by the scattered Borassus Palm trees is an attraction in itself. Retire for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 2 of the 4 Days Luxury Uganda Fishing Safari: Do whole day fishing at Nile River in Murchison Falls National Park.

You set off to the Nile River after breakfast at around 8.00am to embark on the whole day fishing experience. It’s magical to explore the fish species along the Nile including large Nile Perch, Cat fish and Tiger fish. The record for rod and line in Murchison was established by Kevin Nicholson in 2013. His mammoth catch weighed 114kg; just eclipsing Tim Smith’s 113kg catch in 2009, but far heavier than the previous official record of 73kg, set by C D Mardach in 1959.

You have the best boats and the expert guides that will be with you during this exciting, adventurous spot fishing exercise. You retreat to Paraa Safari Lodge for lunch and then get back to the Nile to have the magical fishing safari in Uganda up to the evening. You retire for dinner, relaxation and overnight.

Day 3 of the 4 Days Luxury Uganda Fishing Safari: Second Day of Fishing Encounter & Hike to the Top of the Falls.

After breakfast at around 8.00am, we start another day of fishing experience on the bottom of the falls. You target the powerful Nile perch as they drop from the 45m high water fall still unsteady after being crushed along with the waters of the Nile River as it explodes violently through a 7 meter wide gorge. The fall has featured in the Katherine Hephurn and Humbrey Bogart film the African Queen.

You undertake a hike to the top of the falls following a narrow path and you enjoy your packed lunch on the top of the Murchison falls. The hike may be a strenuous one but the thrill on reaching the top is unforgettable. Miss it only if you must. After a stunning hike to the top of the falls, we will do fishing again in the afternoon and get back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Highlight of the day: – The sport fishing encounter on the bottom of the falls and a hike to the top of the world’s most powerful waterfalls, Murchison Falls.

Day 4 of the 4 Days Luxury Uganda Fishing Safari: Do morning game drive, transfer to Kampala & track Rhinos en route at Ziwa Sanctuary.

Undertake a morning game drive in the northern section of the park a myriad of wild game is found grazing on the open savannah grass land including Elephants, Buffaloes, Giraffes, Jackson’s Hartebeests, Uganda Kobs, Waterbucks, and Hippos. You will also have a chance of seeing lions, leopards and a variety of birds. You retreat to the lodge for breakfast and then cross with the ferry at 11am transferring to Kampala.

You make a stop en route at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary branching 7km to the its headquarters from the main road to track wild white Rhinos on foot. The encounter with the southern white Rhinos marks your full encounter with the Big Five land animals. You retreat from the activity and transfer to Kampala.

Highlight of the day: – The morning game drive in Murchison and tracking wild rhinos on foot in Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.
