Today your 4 Days Masai Mara Safari In Kenya Tour begins!
You’ll be met at your Nairobi hotel at 7.00 am by your tour driver guide. You’ll then be driven west for about 6 hours past splendid views of the Great Rift Valley, Lake Naivasha, and Mt Longonot to Masai Mara National Reserve.
Masai Mara is a “bucket list” dream for practically every traveler with a passion for wildlife.
Affectionately known as the Mara, this reserve is part of the massive Serengeti ecosystem, which covers approximately 31080km2 in northern Tanzania and southwestern Kenya.
It is named in honor of the Maasai people (the ancestral inhabitants of the area) and their description of the area when looked at from afar. “Mara,” which is Maa (Maasai language) for “spotted,” is an apt description for the circles of trees, scrub, savanna, and cloud shadows that mark the area.
It is a prime destination for witnessing the annual Great Migration, which is widely considered among the world’s Top 10 Natural Wonders.
Throughout each year, some 2.5 million wildebeest, zebra, and various species of antelope make the arduous 500-mile trek northwest to Kenya in search of water and fresh grass. The famous crossing at the Mara River, where hungry crocodiles lie in wait, is unlike any other safari spectacle you’re likely to see.
You’ll arrive in the afternoon, check in, enjoy lunch, relax and then depart on an exciting evening drive in the stunning Mara plains. You will stay out until sunset and hopefully you can find some predators like lions, leopards, Jackals, and hyenas as they start to become more active at this time.

Covering an area of 1,510km2, the Masai Mara offers spectacular sightings of the Big 5 (Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo, and Rhino) and it is home to some of the largest hyena clans in Africa. The reserve is also famous for its high population of lions, and you’ll find many prides here, stalking the plains or resting in the tall grass.
You’ll also enjoy spectacular sightings of Cheetahs as you keep an eye out for the rarer species like Bat-eared foxes, black-backed jackal, Side-striped jackal, Golden Jackal, Aardwolf, Caracal, Serval cats, Honey badgers, Black rhinos, and Roan antelope. Giraffes and elands are also commonly sighted.
Speaking of birds, more than 470 bird species have been recorded in the Mara, including 60 raptors. Among the resident species that top the must-see list are vultures, crowned cranes, secretary birds, pygmy falcons, and lilac-breasted roller.
As the sun starts to set, return to your lodge to freshen up, relax, and enjoy dinner. As dusk falls, many animals might be visible in the vicinity of your lodge also
Optional Activity: Hot Air Balloon Ride: Another popular morning activity is to take a bird’s eye view of the Mara while floating over the grassy plains in a hot air balloon. Often described as a magical once-in-a-lifetime experience that will remain eternally in your travel memories, this activity is indeed a royal treat, and without a doubt, the best way to witness the vastness of the Mara.

After an early-morning breakfast on day three of your 4 Days Masai Mara Safari In Kenya Tour, have your packed lunch and head out on another drive into the Masai Mara wilderness in search of species that may be returning from their nocturnal forays, or waking up and getting ready for the day.
Your day will be filled with large herds of elephants, incomprehensible numbers of dazzling zebras, and the epic drama that is found around the Mara River at the peak of the wildebeest migration (end of July through to October).
You enjoy the breathtaking sight of the herds of wildebeest as you approach several of the key Mara River crossing spots. The rivers pose a major obstacle in their way, and the herds’ momentum drives the show that follows.
You’ll soon realize why the Great Migration is referred to as “The Greatest Show on Earth”. At all times, your guide will compose the best approach to any sighting to ensure that you’re placed as close and as safely to the sighting as possible.
Following a picnic lunch in the park, you return to the lodge later in the afternoon for relaxation. In the evening, visit a traditional Maasai village. This genuine and jovial affair will allow you to experience the lovely hospitality of the beautiful Maasai people. Make your way back to camp/lodge for a shower and dinner.
