Day 1: Arrive At Kigali International Airport & Transfer To Akagera National Park. Enjoy An Evening Game Drive On Arrival.
Your 4 days safari in Rwanda tour starts as soon as you land at Kigali International Airport. You’ll be welcomed to Rwanda by your safari driver guide. And after loading your luggage into a clean comfortable 4×4 safari vehicle, you’ll begin making your way to the beautiful Akagera National Park.
You’ll be driven east through amazing countryside landscapes including the areas of Rwamagana where you have chances of encountering the famous long-horned cows, known as lnyambo. This journey will take about 2 ½ -3 hours. You’ll arrive at the accommodation in time for lunch and some relaxation.
In the late afternoon, you have your first Rwanda safari experience in the park with a game drive of 3 hours. Akagera is Rwanda’s biggest national park, situated on an area of 1,122km². The park contains a profusion of wildlife including all of Africa’s “big five” animals. Its savannah plains are dotted with swamps and lakes, as well.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive & Afternoon Boat Cruise in Akagera.
The second day of your 4 days safari in Rwanda commences at 06.00 with breakfast at the lodge. Thereafter, go for a 3 to 4-hour safari game drive in the Akagera National Park savannah as the sun comes up. This is the best time of day to see predators, and the sun rising over the plains is an unforgettable sight.
Look out for Rhinos, Lions, Leopards, Cape Buffalos, Elephants, Giraffes, Zebras, Hyenas, Oribi, Warthogs, Hippos, Olive Baboons, Topi, Impalas, Waterbucks, Bushbucks, Reedbucks, Elands, Roan antelopes, Klipspringers, and more.
You then return to the lodge for relaxation and a good lunch. After your meal, take a relaxing boat cruise on Lake Ihema to see many hippos and large crocodiles. Spot elephants and buffalos, as they gather at the lakeshore to drink and observe plenty of waterbirds; there are almost 500 bird species around the lake.
Some of the top birds you can search for today are the Shoebills, Papyrus Gonoleks, Red-Faced Barbets, and Swamp Flycatchers. Retire for dinner, and overnight.

Day 3: Travel to Volcanoes National Park & Visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village On Arrival.
Day three of your 4 days safari in Rwanda tour starts with a relaxed breakfast. Then head out for your final safari drive in the early hours when animals are most active. Look for giraffes, impalas, baboons, Zebras, and lions.
Later this morning, depart Akagera and embark on a 4-5 hour drive to Volcanoes National Park. Pass beautiful landscapes and terraced hillsides. On arrival at your lodge, have lunch and some free time to relax. After an early breakfast today and head to the park offices for a briefing. At 8 am, embark on an unforgettable trek into the dense jungle in the beautiful Virunga Volcanoes alongside an expert ranger guide in search of rare Mountains Gorillas.
Gorilla trekking can take from 1 to 7 hours of hiking on steep, narrow footpaths, which are sometimes muddy.
You need to be reasonably fit. Your guide will ensure you take plenty of breaks. And once you find the gorillas (we share 98% of our DNA with them), you’ll be rewarded with a full hour of observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat – a magical, once-in-a-lifetime wildlife experience.
