Then, embark on a long scenic drive of about 8 hours north. Pass through beautiful rural Masai villages, the high-lying farmland of Karatu, and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, skirting the mighty volcanic Ngorongoro Crater.
Leaving the crater highlands behind, you descend into the heart of wild Africa – the Serengeti National Park – with its endless plains; they span some 14,700km2, but their main claim to fame is 3 million or so animals.
Massive numbers of grazers and various predators can be seen – Wildebeest, Zebra, Gazelle, Giraffe, Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Wild Dogs, Hyena, Jackals, Bat-eared Fox, Serval, Caracal, Warthog, Hippo, Crocodile, Rhino, Elephant, Buffalo, Eland, Impala, Topi, Waterbuck, and Ostrich – and the interaction between the many species often provides some of the best wildlife viewing opportunities in the world.

Day 2: Full Day Game Drive In Serengeti National Park
Your day two of the 4 days Serengeti safari in Tanzania tour will start around sunrise for a morning game drive and follow that up later on with an afternoon game drive, as the animals tend to be more active in the cooler hours of the day.
You’ll usually return to camp during the hotter hours in the middle of the day, where you will enjoy a hearty meal, relax and maybe take a siesta. Depending on wildlife movements and opportunities for sightings, the drive may continue through lunch and last all day. In this case, you will return to the camp in the late afternoon.
You also have an option of a balloon ride over the park this morning – in place of some of today’s game drives. If you have pre-booked this excursion you’ll be picked up before dawn and driven to the launch site. After a briefing, you fly through the dawn, sometimes at tree height, which offers amazing photo opportunities.
Sometimes you ascend, getting an overview of the enormity of the plains and the early morning movements of the teeming animal herds. After landing, you will be treated to a 5-star bush breakfast, then be returned to your camp/lodge for relaxation.

Day 3: Full Day Game Drive Serengeti in Serengeti National Park
On day three of your 4 days Serengeti safari in Tanzania tour, enjoy another full day in the central Serengeti today. You’ll enjoy breakfast and lunch at the camp, with morning and afternoon game drives included.
Serengeti gets its name from the local Maasai word ‘Siringet’, meaning the place where the land moves on forever. Great stretches of grassland dotted with flat-topped Acacia trees give the Serengeti that classic “Out of Africa” feel.
Many argue that the sunsets in the Serengeti are the most spectacular on earth, with the sky turning a palette of pinks, purples, and oranges before disappearing over the horizon. The dust that had been kicked up from the migrating wildebeest and the threatening rain clouds sometimes even add to the whole scene. Truly magical!
Today, you can also tick off some of the Serengeti’s star birds including, Fischer’s Lovebird, Kori Bustard, Ostrich, Secretarybird, Southern Ground Hornbill; Verreaux’s Eagle, Rüppell’s Vulture, etc.
