The boat will dock in a small bay a few hundred meters away from the crashing Murchison Falls. These falls are arguably the world’s most powerful! They’re not very big or wide like some you may have seen before but think of the world’s longest river which is 50 meters wide squeezing through a narrow cleft of up to 7 meters and fall 45 meters down.
You can opt for a 45 minutes hike to the top of the falls. Make sure you are properly hydrated for the walk and be prepared to be blown away by the amazing views from the top. Return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 4 of the 6 Days Luxury Uganda Safari: Track Chimpanzees In Budongo Forest & Fly To Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Enjoy your breakfast at around 7.00 am and transfer to Budongo Forest – a birder’s paradise – for a briefing about the chimpanzee tracking adventure. The briefing starts at 8.00 am after which you embark on a hike in search of our closest living relatives. There aren’t many places to see chimps safely and easily in Africa but Budongo Forest supports an 800-strong chimpanzee population.
The chimp trek in Budongo is very magical going beyond Chimpanzees as it offers sights of verdant flora including tall Mahogany trees with huge buttress, the myriad of birds, and their enchanting sounds, and colorful butterflies along with several other primates such as Black-and-white colobus, Red-tailed monkeys, Vervet monkey Blue monkey, and Olive baboon.
The trek is fairly easy due to reasonably flat terrain. Once a chimpanzee troop is found, you’ll have an hour with these fascinating creatures, to watch them interact, play with each other, forage making pant-hoot calls, and/or patrolling their territory. The chimpanzee trek tends to last 2 – 4 hours and contact time with chimps is limited to 1 hour.
After this exciting activity, you’ll transfer to Pakuba Airstrip for a private chartered plane to Kihihi airstrip near Bwindi/Queen Elizabeth National parks. The flight takes about 1 hour. Upon arrival, you’ll be met by a Prime Uganda safari representative and driven to a lodge, located at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The drive to the lodge is through local villages and mountain roads – lovely scenery and very interesting en route!

Day 5 of the 6 Days Luxury Uganda Safari: Do Gorilla Trekking In Bwindi & Relax At The Lodge. Optional Village Community Walks.
This is a special day dedicated to gorilla trekking in Uganda to see the shy and gentle mountain gorilla of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. You will get up early for your breakfast. After breakfast at around 6.30 am, transfer to the park headquarter for your pre-trek briefing by the expert local expert guides. At 8 am, embark on an exhilarating trek within the impenetrable forest in search of the gentle giants.
The gorilla trek takes 2-8 hours including the 1 hour of direct encounter with the gorillas. The trek is relatively tiresome as the forest can be quite wet and the going fairly steep. But trust me, the bit of exercise is very well rewarded by meeting these incredible creatures. This is one of the most moving wildlife experiences in Africa – arguably in the world. Put down your camera and sit awhile, just observing their social rituals, the keenness of their relationships, and the depth and range of their emotions. There are only a few hundred of these gentle giants left the Earth, and watching them at the brink of potential extinction is, for many, a transformative moment.
Although the gorillas are the highlight, other mammals that you can find on your trek include Black-and-white colobus, L’Hoest’s, Red-tailed, and Blue monkeys plus numerous special forest bird species. After your 1 hour with the gorillas, trek back out of the forest to meet your guide who will drive you back to your lodge for a well-earned hot shower and dinner.
As part of your stay, you can opt to undertake a community walk through the local villages surrounding Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Optional activities include visits to a traditional home, local orphanage or school, banana brewing demonstrations and even meeting traditional medicinal healers. This three to four-hour walk is easily tailored to your schedule and interests.
Also on this itinerary, it is possible to opt for the unique Gorilla Habituation Experience instead of gorilla trekking. The habituation experience offers a great opportunity to spend 4 hours with a gorilla family which is undergoing habituation (which is being trained to get used to people).

Day 6 of the 6 Days Luxury Uganda Safari: Fly Back To Entebbe. Optional Visit To Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary.
You will enjoy your breakfast at around 8.00 am as you enjoy the final moments in the magical surroundings of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will then transfer to the Kihihi airstrip for your flight back to Entebbe. Your flight departs at 09.45 hours and will arrive at Entebbe Airport at 11.25 hr. As you fly over the landscape, you have time to reflect on and appreciate your privileged time in the precious Ugandan rainforest.
A half visit to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary can be arranged at an additional cost. You leave Entebbe mainland and travel by speed boat to Ngamba Island located on the beautiful Lake Victoria. The sanctuary was opened in 1999 to offer a permanent home to orphaned chimpanzees, which are victims of illegal trade and habitat destruction. Now its hosts about 50 chimps and serves as a tourist destination for locals and international travelers offering an opportunity to learn about the species and the importance of conserving their fragile forest habitats. You enjoy a guided tour of the sanctuary and a close-up experience with the chimpanzees as they come to the boundary area for their morning or afternoon feeding.
Tea, coffee, and cold drinks are available on the Island and Ngamba has a special souvenir shop with a range of local crafts and sanctuary-related t-shirts and products. Your visit and purchases directly support the project with proceeds going towards operating costs of the sanctuary, ensuring the well-being of the chimpanzees.
