Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport & Transfer to Your Hotel in Arusha
On day one of your 9 days Tanzania safari tour, you will be picked up from Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) by our company representative and transferred to Arusha City, less than an hour away.
Arusha is a pleasant, lush, green city in the shadow of Mount Meru (4,562m) and near Mount Kilimanjaro (5,895m), Africa’s highest peak. Because of its altitude of about 1,400m, the city enjoys a temperate climate. It serves as a gateway to Tanzania’s classic northern safari destinations: Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro, Serengeti, and Arusha National Parks.
You’ll receive a briefing about this fantastic 9 days safari and then you’ll be dropped off at your accommodation in the city, where you overnight, relax, and prepare in anticipation of the adventures to come.

Day 2: Transfer to Tarangire National Park & Do Game Drive
After breakfast at 8.00 am, embark on a scenic 2½-hour drive southwest to Tarangire National Park, the first park on your 9 days Tanzania safari tour.
Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge or camp for the next two nights. After lunch, have some time to relax before embarking on an afternoon game drive.
You will explore this lovely quiet, park which is the least visited reserve on the northern Tanzania safari circuit but one capable of delivering fantastic wildlife game viewing and an authentic safari atmosphere. Its grassy plains are dotted with mythical African baobab trees – the largest trees on the continent. Spread among them are Tanzania’s largest herds of elephants, usually up to 300 animals strong!
Tarangire is also a paradise for bird lovers and supports large numbers of Giraffes, Zebras, and many antelope species, most evident during the dry season when concentrations of animals at the life-giving Tarangire River are at their peak. And you will look out for lions, leopards, and cheetahs.

Day 3: Full Day Game Drives In Tarangire National Park
On day three of your 9 days Tanzania safari tour, you will have a full day in beautiful Tarangire. You will enjoy morning and afternoon game drives and return to camp or lodge for lunch and a short rest in the heat of the day.
You will explore the park as you look for the ‘Giants of the Tarangire’ – African elephants and baobabs. Drive towards the Silale Swamp, a key part of the Tarangire ecosystem. The swamp serves as a giant sponge during the rainy season and slowly releases water during the dry season, attracting thousands of animals. Huge herds of herbivores flood the park in the quest for water, attracting lions, leopards, hyenas, Cheetahs, and the endangered African wild dogs/painted wolves.
African Elephants can often be a witness in large numbers here. Great African Rock Pythons can be spotted living alongside the swamp. And if you’re a bird lover, this is the best place to see many of the park’s 553 bird species.

After an early breakfast on day four of your 9 days Tanzania safari tour, have your packed lunch and embark on the marvelous African drive north.
Pass through rolling highlands, Maasai villages, and the gorgeous Ngorongoro Conservation Area via Olduvai Gorge (the Cradle of Mankind), where archaeologists Louis and Mary Leakey discovered the remains of Homo habilis, one of the earliest members of the human genus in the 1960s.
Your destination today is the world-renowned Serengeti National Park, a UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site, the home of the Great Migration, and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa. Covering over 14700km2, Serengeti is inhabited by more than 3 million large animals including over 1.5 million wildebeest, 250,000 zebra, 500,000 gazelles, and Africa’s largest population of predators.
On arrival, enjoy your picnic-packed lunch and a game drive as you continue to your lodge or camp in central Serengeti. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch. After lunch, descend 2000 feet to the crater floor. Learn some cool facts about this incredible natural geological wonderland as you make your way inside. Formed by a massive volcanic eruption, this world’s largest unbroken volcanic caldera (264km2), offers a year-round home to an astonishing 25,000 large mammals, including rare black rhinos, wildebeests, and zebras along with some of Africa’s densest concentrations of lions.

Day 9: Half Day Maasai Community Tour & Transfer Back To Arusha
Today, enjoy breakfast at 8 am and then visit a Maasai village in the Ngorongoro Crater highlands. Spend time with the villagers, find out about their way of life, and join in their lively singing and dancing. Learn about some of the customary practices such as fire-making and beadwork.
After that, embark on a 4-5 hour drive back to Arusha. You can stop for some last-minute shopping before making your way to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight at the end of this lovely 9 days Tanzania safari tour.
