Uganda urged to improve its marketing of the tourism industry on the internet if it’s to increase the number of tourists who come for safaris to Uganda. Even though Uganda has got many wildlife species and biodiversity, it still lacks proper marketing of providing enough information to the tourists about Uganda as a tourist destination. This has greatly affected the number of Uganda safaris hence reducing revenues.
Online marketing is the key to attracting more tourists to come for safari tours to Uganda. This is because many tourists read reviews posted about different tourist attractions before making decisions of traveling to Uganda. Kenya has greatly worked upon its online marketing and it’s the main reason why it has attracted many tourists more than Uganda.
Uganda Tourism Board is said to have opened up a portal which will be used to endorse the proper marketing of Uganda’s tourism sector online. This portal will contain many features which will enable the tourists to put up recommendations and also a payment system for the hotels and the lodges. This will help in increasing the number of tourists who book safaris to Uganda.
The portal will also help the local people to put up the photos and the videos about tourism in Uganda. Marketing can also be done in many other ways and some of them include; using of brochures ,flyers, Radios, Televisions and many more. All these if well used, can help in increasing the number of tourists to Uganda.
