The tourism industry is significant in terms of economic development however it requires continued efforts to promote destination competiveness. The Government of Uganda has luckily secured the funding from the World Bank to enhance its competitiveness that would see her increase the safaris to Uganda.
The funding which is made towards the cost of the Competitiveness and Enterprise Development Project (CEDP) incorporates the consultancy service that is aimed at providing market representation for Uganda in three regions that tend to act as source markets for Uganda safari undertakers. These include; North America that features USA and Canada, United Kingdom and Ireland and German Speaking Countries such as Austria, Switzerland and Germany.
The Private Sector Foundation (PSFU) is apparently calling in the eligible consultancy forms to express their interest in offering these services which would in turn increase travellers that undertake safari tours in Uganda. The interested firms should send detailed information regarding their work experience, staff capacity in management, online and social media marketing, Tourism destination Management and Public Relations. The exercise is planned to last 12 months while the deadline for expression of interest is 3:00Am local time on 17th December, 2014.
