Miss Uganda North America who is based in Vancouver British Colombia a south-western province in Canada recently completed her Uganda safari tour which gracefully ended on the January 11, 2018. The tour was conducted under the theme Tourism, Culture, Charity effort. The queen managed to visit sites like the Tooro kingdom, Kibale forest national park, Kabarole’s crater lakes, Queen Elizabeth national park and Jinja town.
As outlined earlier, in Uganda there are 5 places the queen visited but there are literally hundreds of places you can go to. Safaris to Uganda can expose you to places such as Bwindi Impenetrable National Park where you can go for a Uganda gorilla tracking safari. At this tour, you get to see the fascinating life of gorillas in the wilderness.
The queens tour was conducted by the Tooro kingdom in collaboration with the Uganda Tourism board. During the queen’s safari in Uganda, she had notable experiences that made her tour a memorable one. She went for boat riding on the crater lakes and also had a tree planting exercise.
Queens Activities on the tour
Besides those experiences, the beauty queen also did charity activities. In Fort Portal, she delivered four specialized wheel chairs to the Kyaninga Child Development Center from the Ugandan community in North America.
She also visited the Teenage Moms Foundation in Nansana where she delivered food and bursaries from the Miss Uganda North America program.
The queen also got the opportunity to visit Jinja where she participated in a book reading and delivered over 50 books to Alpha Junior Academy an institution supported by the Ellah Foundation Uganda. The program president Tibba Murunji kabugu encouraged the project because he said “knowledge is power, so it’s important to improve the reading culture”.
Through Mrs. Kushemererwa’s reign and till its culmination in August 2018, she has plans on promoting and supporting the tourism industry through an action plan called “come with me to Uganda”. She is also planning to set up a group home that will support the children with developmental disabilities and mental illnesses in Uganda.
