The cave is located Rwanda in Musanze district, the site has got many tourism sites which are loved by the tourists who come for safaris in Rwanda. The site has major facelift with establishments of tourist ways and the trails, stairs and many other safety measures for the tourists.
Musanze Cave is located near volcanoes national park which is a home to many mountain gorillas which have attracted many gorilla trekking safaris to Rwanda. The cave was recently launched for tourism development by Rwanda Tourism Board. It’s however expected to attract many tourists to come for safari trips in Rwanda.
Apart from the mountain gorilla tracking which can be done, tourists can also engage in the hiking in Kariosoke, hiking to the Dian Fossey Grave and mountain gorilla graveyard, golden monkey tracking , a visit to lake Bulera, the cultural village visits and also a visit to Gisenyi or Lake Kivu.
Mostly the areas attracts tourists who spend only one day tracking mountain gorillas, however , with the increased activities of tourists in the area, the revenue from the tourism development in the area is to increase and this will help in the development of the area. This can also help in facilitating the development of tourism in Rwanda.
The local communities around the caves have however benefited from the caves since the tourists who come for safari tours to the caves have always bought crafts from the villagers who have received the income hence improving their livelihoods in the community.
