Uganda safaris are to benefit from the emerging of Uganda as the fifth exhibitor in Africa at the annual ITB Berlin 2013 travel and Tourism Exhibition, a world leading travel trade show; this is because tourist numbers will increase as well as incomes to the tourism sector.
According to the minister of Tourism, Hon. Maria Mutagamba said that Uganda’s attraction, based on inquiries, were Gorillas in Bwindi Forest, the climate in Kibale District and wildlife in Kidepo and queen Elizabeth National parks and she added that these types of attractions have continued to attract many tours to Uganda.
Uganda exhibited culture as another main attraction in Uganda, culture has played a big role in promoting of tour visits to Uganda and this has helped to increase on the number of visitors who come to Uganda. The minister talked about Ndere cultural dancers as one of the main cultural attraction in Uganda.
Hon. Maria Mutagamba also said that certain things like cleanliness and the road network need to be improved so as to provide accessibility of the visitors to the attractions easily so as to promote tour journeys to Uganda.
Uganda received more than a million foreign tourists and the tourism industry is said to be growing at 21 percent annually and the German market growing at 10 percent with more than 8, 000 Germans having visited the country in 2011 and this has greatly improved safaris in Uganda.
