The preparations of the world tourism day for 2013 are going on and the celebrations are to take place in Fort portal on 7/ September, these celebrations are to bring in many tourists who will also engage in tourist activities hence increasing on the number of safaris to Uganda.
The celebration already began at the beginning of this in the Rwenzori region were many activities have been carried out which have helped in boosting the tourism industry in Uganda. These activities have helped in marketing Uganda as a tourist destination hence attracting many safaris in Uganda.
The tourists, who will come for the celebrations, will also engage in other activities like mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, chimpanzee tracking in Kibale National Park, game viewing in queen, visiting Lake Mburo, and many others which can attract Uganda safaris.
The minister also commented that the celebrations will attract many people from all over the world which will help in generating much revenue for the country, will at the same time will help in attracting many people to come for safari tours to Uganda.
The celebrations will also help in enabling many Ugandans to learn more about global tourism which will be able through sharing knowledge with different tourists from other countries; this will however help in encouraging the Ugandan to undertake domestic safaris and not to leave them for only international people.
The world tourism day is to be celebrated under the theme Tourism and Water, which will help to promote water tourism which has been ignored in Uganda. This will help to increase tour visits to Uganda.
