The destination Kenya is set to get a range of four thousand (4,000) extra beds in the five (5) years period depending on the estimates of upcoming and international brands that have disclosed plans to invest in the country. This is a credible move that is largely welcome by the tourism fraternity as travelers on East Africa Safari in Kenya would have enough space to spend overnights.
The setting up of these brands signify a progressing tourism sector as the brands would themselves engage in outsourcing the travellers from their home countries and hence increasing the volume of Kenya Safaris and tours.
While speaking at the World Tourism Day celebrations, the Director of Tourism Ms. Keziah Odemba disclosed that some of the anticipated Multi-billion shilling investments include; Radisson Blu, Swiss Lenana Motel, Villa Rosa Kempinski, Amber, Golden Tulip, Ibis Styles among others. The 64-storeyed Hilton Upper Hill will combine with the rest to pose a substantive change in the Kenya’s hospitality sector. Travellers on wildlife safaris in Kenya and Tanzania will always find their stay in the country memorable.
The destination Kenya is noted to have received 1.1 million tourists in the previous year and the number is expected to 1.4 million in 2017. The range of 937,000 tourists visited Kenya on holiday, 78,000 for business while 136,000 for other purposes. Kenya wildlife safaris are among the most popular in the East African region.
