Entebbe town is a major town in Uganda and the only town with an international Airport where tourists on Uganda safari come in and leave the country. Located on Lake Victoria peninsula, the town was once the base of administration for the protectorate of Uganda.

Entebbe name came from e ntebe meaning seat or chair in Luganda word. Entebbe was the seat of the colonial government in the early 1900s when Uganda was still under the colonial rule.
