Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda is buzzing with new life, and we have the most heartwarming news to share!
In the dense, misty jungles of southwestern Uganda, two beautiful baby mountain gorillas have been born, bringing fresh hope and joy to one of the most biodiverse and critically important conservation areas on Earth – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.
The Nkuringo family, one of Bwindi’s most beloved gorilla groups, has just grown to 16 members with the birth of a precious gorilla infant to KWITONDA.
Meanwhile, in the nearby Busingye family, the strong and nurturing BIZULU has given birth to a new gorilla infant, raising their group count to 15 individuals.
Both nurturing mothers and their newborns are healthy, and park rangers and conservationists are thrilled by these additions!
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda has been home to a thriving population of over 459 mountain gorillas (almost half of the world’s remaining population), divided into several habituated groups (25 habituated gorilla groups, with 9 available for tourism and one dedicated to research according to the Uganda Wildlife Authority).
