Day 1 of the 11 Days Tanzania Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari & Wildlife Tour: Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport at 14:40hrs & transfer to Arusha

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you are welcomed by the representative who will transfer you to Arusha for relaxation and overnight

Day 2 of the 11 Days Tanzania Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari & Wildlife Tour: Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, check out the hotel/camp and drive to Mto wa Mbu near Lake Manyara. Game drive in Lake Manyara National park Tanzania, this impressive National park is one of Tanzania’s most dramatically located wildlife areas, consisting of a massive but shallow soda lake (covering two-thirds of the park) at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment. The park’s varied habitat attracts a wide variety of animals, including one of Africa large concentration of Elephants; Manyara is famous for tree-climbing animals as well as large flocks of flamingos attracted by the algae in the Lake. Day 3 of the 11 Days Tanzania Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari & Wildlife Tour: Manyara – Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, head towards the Serengeti National Park, via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, descend into the heart of wild Africa – Game drive en route in the Serengeti National Park Tanzania – with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. Head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. Arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti National Park.

After breakfast game viewing drives along the Sogore River Circuit, which loops into the plains south of the Seronera River, and which is good for possible lion, Thomson gazelle, topi, ostrich and cheetah sightings. The visitor’s centre not far from the Serengeti Seronera Lodge and public campsites is well worth a visit after the morning’s game drive. This nicely designed centre offers some interesting wildlife displays as well as a gift shop selling information leaflets and maps of the area. The centre also has a shop where cold drinks and snacks can be purchased, as well as a picnic area and information trail up and around a nearby kopje. We will enjoy a relaxed picnic lunch at the centre in the shade of the giant acacia trees.

In the afternoon we will follow the Kopjes Circuit, which goes anti-clockwise around the Maasai Kopjes, which usually attract a number of lion and some formidably large cobras. Kopjes are weathered granite outcrops, scattered around the plains, most of which are miniature ecosystems, providing shade and drinking water in pools left in the rock after the rains. This makes the kopjes particularly good for spotting wildlife in the dry seasons – including lions, which like to lie in wait for animals coming to drink!

After breakfast, Drive for another full game drive in Serengeti. Optional (Dep for morning game drive return the camp for hot lunch followed by an afternoon game drive) or enjoy full day game drive in the park depart with lunch boxes to make you last day in Serengeti memorable. After breakfast check out to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, after gate formalities, descend 600m into this magnificent crater for a full-day game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most densely crowded African wildlife areas in the world and is home to an estimated 30,000 animals including some of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhino. Supported by year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro National Park supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park is its huge population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard. picnic lunch on the crater floor. Day 8 of the 11 Days Tanzania Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari & Wildlife Tour: Game drive in Tarangire National Park and transfer to JRO for a flight to Kigali

Tarangire National park is the sixth National park in Tanzania.  The park runs along the line of Tarangire River and is mainly made up of low-lying hill on the Great Rift Valley floor. Its natural vegetation mainly consists of Acacia woodland and giant African Boabab trees, with huge swamp areas in the south. Both the river and the swamps act like a magnet for wild animals, during Tanzania dry season. The Tarangire National park is reputed to contain some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. Retreat from the activity and proceed to Kilimanjaro International Airport to catch up the flight to Kigali. Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you are welcomed by your driver-guide in Rwanda who will transfer you to the hotel for relaxation and overnight.

Day 9 of the 11 Days Tanzania Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari & Wildlife Tour: Visit the Rwanda Genocide memorial and transfer to Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast, embark on the visit to Gisozi genocide memorial to pay tribute to the counts of Rwandese that lost their lives in the 1994 bloody genocide. The site has a detailed interpretation of what transpired during that time. Retreat from the activity for lunch after which you embark on the transfer to Volcanoes National Park 116km about 2 -3 hours’ drive passing through impressive countryside landscapes with amazing hills that have earned Rwanda a dub as the land of a thousand hills. You arrive in the evening for relaxation.

Day 10 of the 11 Days Tanzania Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari & Wildlife Tour: Undertake Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes and relax

You wake up early in the morning at your lodge for breakfast and embark on the transfer to Volcanoes National Park Rwanda Park headquarters Kinigi. At the headquarters as you wait for the briefing time, you are treated for a warm cup of coffee served courtesy of Rwanda Development Board while being entertained by the Kinyarwanda dance troupes before the park rangers set to allocate the respective gorilla families and then briefing in your respective gorilla groups at 8 am. After the briefing, you drive to the respective gorilla family trail heads to head to the jungle in search of the critically endangered apes. The hike through the volcanic slopes marked with steep slopes and dense vegetation beautiful in nature present amazing scenic views. The eventual encounter with the mountain gorillas as they forage to feed their huge tummies, attending to the frightening welcome of the silverback, watching the baby gorillas as they roll themselves on tree branches, play with other and respective mothers among other aspects will lure you into an unforgettable amazement. The one hour is availed to you to experience what you have heard, read and thought of for long and the remarkable pictures will form lasting memorabilia for this lifetime experience that is so far the best in Africa.
