The 5 Days Mountain Gorilla tour is an impressive Uganda gorilla safari package that features mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, wild game viewing in Lake Mburo National Park including the possible sights of Cape Buffaloes, Rothschild giraffes, the Topis, Impala, the Burchell’s Zebra, the Eland, the Deffasa waterbuck, wart hogs among other species. The safari also features recreational boat cruise on Lake Bunyonyi famously referred to as the Lake of Thousand Islands, the scenic views of the magical Kigezi Highlands, the historical, heritage and cultural tours to the 1520AD eclipse monument, the Igongo Cultural Center and Kampala City.

Day 1: Leave Kampala for Bwindi Impenetrable National Forest

Day 2: Track Gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Forest and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for a sun set boat cruise and relaxation

Day 3: Drive from Lake Bunyonyi to Lake Mburo National Park. Visit the 1520 AD eclipse monument & Igongo Cultural Center en route

Day 1: Leave Kampala for Bwindi Impenetrable National Forest

After your breakfast at your place of stay in Kampala, you start off the drive at 6:00am the journey to Bwindi-south western Uganda. You follow the Masaka – Mbarara road before making a stop at Uganda Equator crossing Kayabwe 77km from Kampala for amazing photo shoots. You proceed to make another stop at Igongo Cultural Museum for traditional lunch 12km to Mbarara town. You proceed to arrive in Bwindi in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight

Day 2: Track Gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Forest and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for a sun set boat cruise and relaxation

Have breakfast then go to the park offices to get briefed and at 9:00 am embark on the Uganda gorilla trek along the tracks within the impenetrable forest in search for these great mountain gorillas .The gorilla trekking might take you 2 - 8 hours to find the giant Gorillas depending on their movement. The trek/quest for these great apes is tiresome but very well rewarded by meeting, spending time with and photographing these great gorillas as you look straight into their inviting brown expressive eyes, this is a life time thrill of a wild life adventure only Africa can offer you. After the activity, connect to Lake Bunyonyi commonly known as the lake of a thousand Islands because of its 29 Islands where you will undertake a thrilling boat cruise to gain impressive scenic views of the calm waters that stand as the second deepest in Africa, the Islands and the surrounding Kigezi Highlands. Retire for dinner and overnight

Day 3: Drive from Lake Bunyonyi to Lake Mburo National Park. Visit the 1520 AD eclipse monument & Igongo Cultural Center en route

Early in the morning after breakfast transfer to Lake Mburo National Park 199km about 4 hours’ drive. You make a stop at 1520AD Eclipse monument situated at the top of Biharwe hill with great local history attached to it that is beyond the total solar eclipse. The three pillar monument reminds local people of the time when the King of Bunyoro had confiscated the entire cows of Ankole leaving people in complete starvation. As he was from raiding those of Rwanda and reached Biharwe, the eclipse took place and stuck in shock, the King and his men abandoned the cows at the site and when the eclipse was over, the Banyankole found cows all over. They thought that they had come from heaven sent by God for their rescue from starvation. They were able to repossess the cows again. From the monument, you continue to Igongo Cultural Center for lunch at its famous Kahwa Kanuzire restaurant literally translated as it’s finished when it is still sweet. It serves the organically produced food stuffs produced from the fertile soils of Uganda and freshly served. You undertake the tour of the museum named Erijukiro which features a range of artifacts collected form all tribes of south western Uganda, sculptures of historical people like Muguta y’ Butaho a famous worrier of Bujweju defunct Kingdom, the sculpture of the ancient historical cow Mayenje g’ Ishinjo that sparked off the war between Nkore and Buhweju among others. Continue on the drive for 33km to Lake Mburo National Park arriving in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight

Day 4: Have a Wildlife Walking Safari in L. Mburo National Park then drive to Kampala

After your early morning breakfast, you will undertake a nature walk-the most interesting nature walks in the country that will expose you to various species of primates like vervet monkeys and Olive Baboons, birds, antelope, buffaloes and many wild plant species. After this, proceed to Kampala with a stop at the Equator where you can buy African crafts and take photographs. You will arrive late evening in Kampala, dine and spend your overnight.

After breakfast at around 9.00 am, your guide will pick you up from your hotel and you embark on the famous Kampala tour. You will penetrate the busy capital city and tour all the gothic era cathedrals like Namirembe and Rubaga, mosques like Gadhafi and Kibuli, the Baha’i temple – the only temple of the Baha’i faith in Africa, Namugongo shrine - where the famous Uganda Martyrs were murdered, visit the famous Owino market down town – the second largest second hand cloth market in Africa, Kabaka`s palace, Kabaka’s lake, Kasubi tombs, Uganda parliament, Makerere University and the Uganda National Museum.
