Gorilla trekking in Uganda’s low season – Uganda safari news

gorilla in bwindiUganda has got half of the world’s critically endangered mountain gorillas thriving in her protected areas of Mgahinga and Bwindi Impenetrable National Parks all in south western Uganda which presents a rich ground for gorilla trekking safaris in Uganda.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park alone has 400 out of 880 mountain gorilla numbers that are currently thriving in the wild. in the  four gorilla trekking regions of Buhoma, Nkuringo, Ruhija and Rushaga contain 12 habituated gorilla families that are ready for trekking by travelers on Uganda gorilla safaris.
Gorilla trekking in Uganda is carried out throughout the year. However there are two seasons within the Uganda’s tourism industry and these are the low season and peak season. The low season which is a season for rain too in terms of climatic conditions includes the months of November, April and May. In this period, travelers tend to put the active activities including gorilla tracking aside waiting to encounter them in the dry months of December, January, August, July and June.
Fortunately, Uganda Wildlife Authority offers a present for undertaking a gorilla tour in the low season in Uganda. the gorilla trekking permit let it be for foreign nonresident, foreign resident or an East African Citizen is given out at discounted prices at $350, $300 and150,000/= respectively for mentioned travel groups which is a great reduced amount compared to the high season rates of $600, $500 and 250,000/= for the respective categories.
It can also be noted that gorilla trekking in Uganda during the low season does not come along with great difficulty like it has been portrayed. Being a tropical country, it can rain and can shine at any time of the day. Thus, it is very rare for the whole day even in the rainy season to go by without a session of sunshine. Though the hilly landscapes of Bwindi might be slippery and muddy during this season, trekking them in such nature is an experience  its self and should not deter any one from undertaking a gorilla safari in Uganda in those periods.
