This Africa safari offers Gorilla trekking or tracking Gorillas – the highlight of an African safari in Uganda .Gorilla trekking safaris in Africa Uganda are carried out in Bwind Impenetrable gorilla Forest and Mgahinga Gorilla Forest.Uganda has an increased number of Gorillas to a tune 400 Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi with the biggest Gorilla family having 34 gorillas under the custody of 1 silver back.

Tracking gorillas can take from 1-9 hours depending on how far the gorillas are feeding or resting from. Tour Itinerary

Day 1 Murchison Falls Uganda safari-Wildlife Tour
Very early in the morning your Uganda safari guide will pick you from the hotel and transfer you to Murchison Falls National Park. On your way, you will pay a visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – where black and white rhinos are kept in a semi-natural environment. The next stop-over shall be in Masindi for your lunch and arrive in the evening at the top of the falls-where the world`s longest river -Nile River, is forced to flow through a 7 meters wide narrow rocky gauge before ferociously plunging down 43 meters. From here you will take a ferry across the river to Paraa Safari Lodge. Look out for hippos, elephants, buffaloes and many other animals as they graze on the banks of the river on your way. You shall dine and spend the overnight at pakuba lodge(midrange)/ red chili(budget)

Day 2: Game Viewing in Murchison Falls NP
To further accelerate this Uganda safari,you will have an early morning game drive towards the northern river bank in search for Cape buffalo, elephants, bohor reed bucks, lions, rothchild’s hyenas, giraffes, hartebeasts, waterbucks, oribi, bushbucks, and if lucky, leopards. Return to the lodge for mid morning breakfast , relax at the lodge till you take your lunch. After lunch, go for a boat cruise to the bottom of Murchison Falls. This boat trip along the Nile is the highlight of a tour to Murchison Falls national park and so fascinating. It allows you to have a close and personal interaction with the animals. With over about 4,000 hippos reported to be along this stretch of the river and numerous Nile crocodiles and a birdlife stunning with brightly colored kingfishers and bee-eaters dwelling along the riverbanks you are assured of a great adventure. On your luck day, you may see the rare shoebill-a cross between the dodo and a dinosaur. The boat cruises you to the base of the falls to further your impression of the falls and the Nile at large. You will have your overnight at the pakuba lodge(midrange)/ red chili(budget)

Day 3: Murchison Falls – Fort Portal
Early in the morning after breakfast but with packed lunch go to Kibale Forest National Park traversing traditional homesteads surrounded by crop plantations and arrive in Fort Portal in the evening. Your dinner and overnight shall be at primate chimpanzee forest guest house(midrange)/ kibale forest camp(budget)

Day 4: Chimpazee Tracking Safari in Kibale Forest
After breakfast early in the morning go to the ranger station in Kibale National Park at 08.00am for a briefing before tracking the habituated chimps. These beautiful apes-more closely related to humans than to any other living creature, are a great adventure watching as they squabble and jump from tree to tree. This forest is home to over 13 primate species include the red Colobus monkey, bushbabies, the rare L’Hoest monkey, black-faced vervet monkeys,blue monkey, grey mangabey, pottos, plus baboons. Birders have close to 335 species recorded to watch including the endemic Prirogrines ground thrush. The shady forest trails offer much delight to botanists and butterfly lovers, the forest elephant, smaller and hairier than the savannah one, moves seasonally into the developed part of the park and other mammals including the giant forest hog, buffalo and a half dozen antelope species are all that will spice your kibale forest Uganda safari adventure . Right after we will transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park for your dinner and overnight at enganzi lodge(mid range)/bush lodge(budget)

Day 5: Wildlife Tour – Queen Elizabeth National Park
Have an early morning game drive so as to spot the early risers such as the elusive leopards and spotted hyenas. After the game drive return to the lodge take your breakfast and relax a little. Resume the game drive following the Kasenyi track for abundant wildlife such as hippo, the buffalo, hyenas, Lions and antelopes etc. You will return to the lodge for lunch and a chance to relax at the magnificent swimming pool before taking an afternoon boat trip along the Kazinga channel to have a close look at hippos, buffalo and crocodiles. The banks of the channel are also home to many bird species that include the saddle billed stork, the pink-backed pelicans, the pied and malachite kingfishers among others. You will have your Overnight at enganzi lodge(mid range)/bush lodge(budget)
Day 6: Bwindi National Park
After an early morning breakfast, embark on your transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park via Ishasha Game Reserve. Watch out for the famous tree-climbing lions in the trees branches and then proceed for lunch at Gorilla Resort Camp- Buhoma. Here you will dine and spend the overnight in anticipation of a gorilla tracking-gorilla trekking and / birding day tomorrow.
The Bwindi impenetrable Gorilla Forest holds 348 species of birds and supports 24 of 26 Albertine Rift Endemics that occur in Uganda and is home to seven red data book species. Bwindi Gorilla Forest is an extension of the forests of the Virunga Volcanoes that offers a fascinating view being home to both the flora and fauna. Your dinner and overnight shall be at Buhoma Community Rest Camp(budget)/silver back lodge (midrange)/nkuringo gorilla camp(midrange) / wag tail lodge(budget)

Day 7: Gorilla Tracking /Gorilla trekking
After a heavy early breakfast but with packed lunch, you will transfer to the park headquarters at Buhoma in Kanungu for a briefing before embarking on your gorilla trek at 8:30 am. Park guides will after take you through the thick buttress root tree forest plus undergrowth- tracking the gorillas. This 2-9 hour Gorilla trek requires a reasonable degree of fitness a pair of jungle shoes. Once tract, interaction with the gorillas as you listen to them grumble as well as taking photographs with them takes only 1hour. It’s important to note that there are only about 680 of these beautiful apes left in the world most of them fortunately found in Bwindi. Your dinner and overnight shall be at Buhoma Community Rest Camp(budget)/silver back lodge (midrange)/nkuringo gorilla camp(midrange) / wag tail lodge(budget)

Day 8: Bwindi – Lake Bunyonyi
After an early morning breakfast, drive to Bunyonyi traversing the Kigezi Highlands commonly referred to as the”Switzerland of Africa”. You shall take a picnic lunch and arrive at the overland camp of Lake Bunyonyi (the lake of Birds) – the deepest lakes in Africa in the late afternoon. Bird around and after enjoy traditional dances by the local people or have evening walks around the nearby villages to see the local/native hats/houses in which the locals dwell as well as interact with them. Your overnight and dinner shall be at Bunyonyi Overland Camp(budget) / Arcadia Cottages(midrange)

Day 9: Bunyonyi – Lake Mburo National Park
Early in the morning after breakfast transfer to Lake Mburo NP having your lunch en route in Mbarara town. Proceed to Lake Mburo national park for an evening boat cruise on arrival or a game drive if preferred. Whichever you choose, be assured of seeing a variety of game and birds the difference is that one is on water well as the other is on land. You will have your dinner and overnight at  Arcadia cottages(midrange)/Lake View Hotel (budget)/Basic Rwonyo bandas(budget)

Day 10: Lake Mburo national park – Kampala
After your early morning breakfast, you will undertake a nature walk-the most interesting nature walks in the country that will expose you to various species of primates, birds,antelope, buffaloes and many wild plant species. After this, Proceed to Kampala but stop-over in Lyantonde for your lunch or at the Equator where you can buy African crafts and take photographs. You will arrive late evening in Kampala, dine and spend your overnight at cassia lodge/emarald hotel
