The 3 Days Wildlife safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of the best short Uganda safaris that you can ever opt to undertake. It includes the rewarding game viewing like lions, buffaloes, elephants, water bucks, leopard, warthogs and jackals; recreational launch cruise on the 45km long Kazinga channel full of birds, Nile crocodiles and Hippos; Chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura and the equator crossing experiences.

Description: Day 1: Travel by Road to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, embark on the drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will drive out of Kampala towards the south west after which you will make a stop at the equator crossing Kayabwe 77km from Kampala for photo shooting and water experiments featuring the geographical separation between the north and southern hemispheres. Continue on the journey through the farmed hill sides and the rangelands of Ankole before making an early lunch stop at Igongo cultural center 12km to Mbarara town. After lunch, continue on the drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park.Drive distance: 417km
Drive time: 7 hours.

Accommodation: Mweya Safari Lodge (Upmarket/luxury), Enganzi lodge (Midrange/standard) or Kazinga Channel View Resort (Budget/Basic).

Day 2: Do game drive & Kazinga Channel launch cruiseWake up for an early morning 3 – 4 hour game drive though the Kasenyi tracks where you will have chances of viewing a range of wildlife. Some of these include; lions, elephants, Buffaloes, Antelopes, jackals, among others. You will marvel at them as they gather what to put in their stomachs and others taking a rest. The savannah landscape in which they thrive is an attraction in its self. Return to the lodge for relaxation till lunch time after which you will gather at Mweya for a launch cruise on Kazinga channel at 3:00pm. The 2 hour launch cruise takes you through the offers of the 45m long Kazinga channel including possibilities of encountering the Nile crocodiles, Hippos, abundant bird life and a range of wild game quenching their thirst along the channel waters. Return to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.

Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking & transfer to Kampala. Transfer early in the morning to catch up with Chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura gorge at 08:00am. You will attend a short briefing by the park rangers after which you will head to the gorge in search of these chimps. The experience is very interesting as it involves sloping down the steep terrain of the gorge and again trekking back to the top. The forest jungle which thrives below the sea level with a river flow on the gorge bed makes the activity to go beyond mere chimpanzees. Upon encountering chimpanzees, you will marvel at them as the swing through the tree branches, gather fruit and socialize not forgetting their pant – hoot calls which will leave you in a state of amazement. Retreat from 2 – 5 hour activity to embark on the drive back to Kampala. You will arrive late in the evening.

We offer set departure dates for the above scheduled programs LEAVING FROM KAMPALA ON THE SPECIFIC DATES MENTIONED.These are fixed for groups who would like to join other people traveling on these tours.
Where gorilla tracking is involved, this will depend on the availability of gorilla permits at the time of booking. Because of the scarcity of gorilla permits, our programs have been standardized to allow tracking in either Bwindi or Mgahinga parks or Rwanda – De Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. However tracking Rwanda (Park Volcanoes) this will need a top up of permits, visa entry, accommodation and border crossing fees.

Clients to track in Rwanda staying in upmarket/Medium facilities will top USD 395 and client staying budget facility will be toping up USD 285.

Safaris cutting accross x-mas and end of year dates will be subjected to supplements.

Tour minimum numbers of people are 2 – 6 people. Each person will be communicated the standing number of persons to join and how many are confirmed for the trip. A refund or top up will be paid where the number exceeds other than communicated. Big groups will be communicated special rates on request

In terms of accommodation the price quote given is based on the Midium rate and budget options rate accommodation facilities. The budget type of accommodation is in rest camps or bandas- which are African small medium houses separate from each other and may not necessarily be self contained, while in other cases it will be in hostels like at Queen Elizabeth National Park or in budget hotels. In most cases these are simple accommodation units but with clean facilities. Meals can either be served from canteens in some cases or in the Dinning rooms.

In the Medium option rates, accommodation is in self-contained facilities (cottages, hotels, lodges or tented camps) with standard en-suit rooms and offer meals of international standard cuisine. For Luxury and Upmarket accommodation facilities can send special request.

Included in the Cost
The costs given above include accommodation and meals on full board basis while on safari, 1 gorilla permit and 1 or 2 chimp tracking permits per person where mentioned, 1 boat cruise on River Nile in Murchison Falls National Park and another launch cruise on Kazinga channel in Queen Elizabeth National park also where mentioned, game drives and park entrance fees plus bottled water through out the safari transits.

Cost Excludes
The cost excludes airport transfers and accommodation in Kampala. However, airport transfers and accommodation while in Kampala (before and after the safari) can be arranged for you on request. The cost also does not cover drinks, souvenirs, tips, and all other expenses of personal nature. Our trips usually begin at 8.00am from Sheraron or we can pick you at your hotel and end in Kampala. However, pick up from any other place can be arranged on request.

A total of 30% will be deposited or at least costs to pay for gorilla permit fees to confirm the safari .The Balance will be paid 3o days to safari date. Payments will be done by sending funds by Telegraphic Transfer (wire transfer ) method to our bank Account details communicated upon confirmation.
