The destination Uganda teeming with tropical rain forests, Savannah parks, towering mountains and highlands and the home to Lake Victoria and the source of the mighty Nile River, the Uganda Safaris and tours have been listed among the top pick world over.

But majorly, the backbone of Uganda’s attractiveness is wildlife which mainly thrives in protected areas including Bwindi Impenetrable and Mgahinga Gorilla National Parks where world’s critically endangered Mountain Gorillas normally explored on gorilla safaris in Uganda thrive.  This wildlife requires rigorous effort in terms of conservation and in the event where the government struggles to sustain the management of National Parks and Game reserves, the Private sector can as well play a credible role.

Fortunately, the wildlife population of some of the species that had faced the threat of extinction in Uganda including elephants is steadily increasing following decades of stability and committed conservation effort.

At the Giants Club Conservation and Investment Forum which was held at Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort and Spa Hotel on Oct 6^th 2017, the President of Uganda urged the range of participants who included Evegney Lebedev – the Owner of the Independent and London Evening Standard, George Osborne – the former British Chancellor of the Exchequer, Erik Solheim – the Executive Director of United Nations Environment Programme among others to champion the cause of tourism and hospitality investment in Uganda that would in turn derive a multiplier effect in the conservation world.

The Private sector efforts like establishing Uganda safari lodges do not only enable world travelers to visit but also employs local people who would have instead engaged in illicit activities like poaching. Max Graham – the Chief Executive of Space for Giants agrees to the notion that the destination Uganda requires high end Eco lodges that are environmentally sensitive. These high end lodges would in turn encourage top notch travelers to take up tours in Uganda. Besides accommodation facilities, other initiatives include raising funds to undertake rehabilitation of degraded areas before tourists commence their visitation.
