Katara Lodge is situated on the Great Rift Valley escarpment with uninterrupted views of the savannah, Lake Edward and the Virunga and Rwenzori mountain ranges beyond. Katara Lodge is located 16km from the Katunguru gate of the Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Accommodation at Katara Lodge include;

Seven 7 regular cottages and one family cottage.

These luxurious thatched cottages are perched on beautiful stretch of hills overlooking the open savannah in a serene and relaxing atmosphere.

Each spacious cottage was hand crafted using locally available materials and carved into the hillside by the Katara village community.

The cottages combine wooden floors, grass thatched roofs and canvas that can be folded away for uninterrupted views of the park stretching out below.

Regular cottages has one large open sleeping and sitting area, a double bed and a four poster star bed that can be wheeled out onto the veranda to sleep directly under the starlit African sky. Bathrooms that are luxuriously fitted – the romantic roll top bath, or the invigorating rain shower, provide a perfect way to unwind after a thrilling day on holiday in Uganda.

Family cottage features two separate bedrooms with a shared sitting area and bathroom. A double bed in one bedroom, and two beds in the other bedroom which can accommodate up to 3 small children. A small private outside sitting area with a swing couch and two hammocks.
