Following your breakfast at your place of stay in Kampala, you depart for the transfer to Murchison Falls National Park at 6:30am driving through the beautiful landscapes of Nakasongora and the famous Luwero triangle where the NRA bush war was fought. The journey is 311km about 5 hours’ drive excluding stops en route. You make a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary 7km from the main road at Nakitoma to undertake a memorable Rhino tracking encounter. The sanctuary is a home to 15 southern white Rhinos thriving in beautiful natural savannah woodland with enough grass for grazing and trees for shade. Retreat from 1 – 3 hour Rhino experience and embark on the transfer to Murchison Falls National Park. Lunch can be enjoyed at Kabalega dinner or Masindi town. Cross with the ferry to the northern section for relaxation, dinner and overnight

Day 2 of the 9 Days Wildlife Safari Holiday in Uganda: Do morning game drive, afternoon Nile launch cruise and hike to the top of the falls

Settle for breakfast at 6am and connect to the park for game drive at 7am. The game drive is carried out in the northern section of the park where a myriad of wild game thrive ranging from the four of the big five land animals namely the elephants, the Buffaloes, the Leopard and the lion and other counts of Rothschild Giraffes, the Jackson’s Hartebeest, the Oribis, the Uganda Kob, the waterbuck and Patas monkey among other species which may be explored on the 3 – 4 hour game drive. You retreat to the lodge for relaxation and lunch after which you gather at Paraa jetty to undertake the Nile launch cruise departing at 2pm. The 2 hour cruise to the bottom of the falls is a recreational and an impressive safari activity that offers you a possibility of viewing the Nile Crocodiles, the Hippos and the shoe bill stork along with other birds that like to dwell close to water. The wild game viewing on the river banks may not be missed. Upon reaching at the bottom of the falls, you embark on the hike to the top of the falls following a challenging narrow path with steep and slippery slopes as you walk past the Nile River mesmerized by its waters splashing out after hitting hard rocks. After breakfast, connect to the Paraa Jetty to catch up with the ferry crossing at 9am to transfer to Kibale National Park 441km about 9 hours’ drive passing through the impressive landscapes of Hoima with the views the Albertine rift. You make a lunch stop in Hoima after which you proceed to Fort Portal region arriving in the evening to check in at the lodge, relax and settle for dinner and overnight.

Gather at Kanyanchu Tourism Center to catch up with briefing at 8am about the conduct of Chimpanzee trekking. The exercise is conducted by the park rangers after which you head to the ancient forest of Kibale in search of the common chimpanzees. The common chimpanzees are noted to be sharing 98% percentage of their DNA with humans and thus undertaking an exploration to their natural habitat to spend the full one hour with them is one way to reunite with these cousins. The chimpanzee trekking to last 2 – 5 hours and goes beyond the chimps alone as the forest shelters 13 primate species, the 351 tree species and the 375 bird species which include the endemic Kibale ground thrush. Retreat from the activity, settle for your packed lunch at the center and then connect to Bigodi wetland for an afternoon walk. Bigodi wetland sanctuary features 138 species of birds including the great blue turaco, the swamp dwelling Sitatunga antelope, the lush swamp flora and the community touch including the traditional healer and the women’s art and craft center. You retreat from the 2 hour walk and embark on the 157km about 3 hours transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park enjoying the scenic views of Mount Rwenzori en route rising to 5,109m with snowcapped peaks. Arrive in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Settle for breakfast at 6am and connect to the park to embark on the game drive activity at 7am exploring the magical wildlife of Queen Elizabeth National Park. You drive through Kasenyi plains exploring the Kob’s mating ground and the extensive grassland and woodland that supports a myriad of wild game including the Cape Buffaloes, the African elephants, Defassa Waterbucks, Bushbucks, the Uganda Kobs, the side stripped jackal, the leopard, spotted hyenas, the lions among other species. Retreat from the 3 – 4 hour activity and connect to the lodge for relaxation and lunch after which you connect to the Mweya jetty for an afternoon Kazinga Channel boat cruise. The boat cruise starts at 2pm and takes 2 hours giving you an opportunity to explore the calm waters of the 45km long Kazinga Channel filled with counts of Hippos, the Nile crocodiles, the water birds on the shores and a range of wild game drinking water from the channel. After breakfast at 7am, you embark on the transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park 218km Ruhija and 309km Rushaga depending on the lodge selected. You undertake a memorable game drive in Ishasha sector in the south of Queen Elizabeth National Park in search of the famous tree climbing lions and other wildlife like water bucks, buffaloes, kobs and elephants. The fig tree branches of Ishasha present memorable day beds for the lions which derives a unique encounter with the Kings of the Jungle in the wilderness of Uganda. Retreat from the drive and continue on the drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park arriving in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Settle for breakfast at 6am and connect to the respective park headquarter to catch up with the briefing at 8am about the conduct of gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The park rangers allocate the respective family to track and brief you about the activity after which you head to the park for the active gorilla trekking exercise. In the company of the ranger guides very armed for protection against any wild attack, you traverse the forest marked by lush flora, magical birds and other fauna like duikers in search of the critically endangered mountain gorillas where 400 of them are known to be thriving in the impenetrable forest. The steep hills intercepted by deep valleys and streams present challenging hike which is an experience of itself. The one hour with the gorillas is magical as you see them forage, socialize, the young ones play and the silverback demonstrating its might luring you to take as many photos as you can. Retreat from this activity which can take 2 – 8 hours depending on the gorilla movements and connect to the lodge for relaxation. In the evening, you attend the traditional performance show of the Bakiga or the Batwa enjoying their impressive dances and stories which will definitely give you an insight into the local people’s traditions. After a relaxed breakfast, embark on the transfer to Lake Bunyonyi 73km from Rushaga and 52km from Ruhija and upon arrival, you embark on the Island hopping experience exploring the main Islands of Lake Bunyonyi including Bwama Njuyera which a re-known traditional leprosy treatment center, the Bushara Island with its impressive eucalyptus forest, the Akampane / punishment Island where they used to drop premarital pregnant girls and leave them to die from there and the Bucuranuka / Upside down Island which is known to have turned upside down as a result of old woman’s curses after being denied a chance to enjoy the local brew. The boat cruise on this second deepest lake in Africa as you connect to the respective Islands is also rewarding.
