Its 434km with a drive time of about 6h 27min without stop overs from Kampala to Kitgum. If you start your wildlife tour Uganda early then you can add in rhino tracking in Ziwa Rhino sanctuary which takes about 2 hours before you continue with your journey to kitgum for an overnight stay.

Mount Morungole (2,479m above sea level) is strenuous to hike but when you finally meet this unique people then you won’t feel the worth of the hike. You will spend the day being entertained, taught about the history, interacting and dinning with the natives, these welcoming tribe will create the greatest experience of a Uganda safari.

 

Alternatively, if you can’t manage to hike to mount Morungole for the Ik people visit, then you can drive to Sipi falls in kapchorwa where you will visit the beautiful waterfalls and later return to Kampala the next day via Jinja source of the Nile.
