Gorillas are described as mammals which resemble human beings in there way of doing their things such as walking, eating, laughing, getting annoyed and many common things. These animals are very interesting to watch and if one wants to have a safari to Uganda ,gorilla tracking is the activity that you can enjoy .
There are two types of gorillas which are both interesting and nice looking. They include the following;
The Eastern gorillas which are a species to the genus gorilla and known as the largest living primate among the many gorillas. The eastern gorillas have two sub species including Eastern Lowland gorilla and the Mountain gorillas. These are all tracked on a Uganda safari.
The Eastern Lowland gorillas are also known as the Grauer’s gorillas. They have black coats with short hair covering the head and body. They live in the mountainous forests of Eastern DRC they also live in Maiko National Park and Kahuzi. They have attracted many people to come for gorilla trekking in Uganda.
The Mountain gorillas are other sub species of the eastern gorillas. They are found in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga National Park in Uganda and Virunga Volcanic mountains in Rwanda. They often have thinker and longer fur which enables them survive in the cold temperatures. This makes it easy to be tracked at any time hence promoting more gorilla safaris in Uganda.
The second type of the gorillas is the western gorillas which are the smallest. They live in groups varying in size with one male, many female and off springs. The groups have about 20 members and headed by a dominant male called silverback. They are all interesting gorillas which have increased gorilla tours in Uganda.
