The Male Rhino aged 5 years is known to have lost its life at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary which is normally encountered by travelers on Uganda safaris and tours.
The Rhino named Justice is known to have engaged in a serious fight with Taleo which is the dominant Male Rhino on the Sanctuary which resulted into him sustaining counts of injuries that might have resulted into his death.
The death of Justice was received with sorrow by the sanctuary rangers and other travelers on safaris in Uganda when he was found by rangers and the veterinary doctors in the morning on their routine checkup of the Rhinos on the Sanctuary.
The Director of Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary Angie Genada confirmed that dead animal had a serious fight with the dominant Taleo and has been undergoing treatment by doctors from Uganda Wildlife Authority – the body that is responsible for wildlife maintainance in Uganda including the national parks which are visited by visitor on Uganda safaris and tours.
The situation that surrounded Justice’s death has prompted the Ziwa Sanctuary Management to schedule a meeting with officials from Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) in order to draft means of how Rhinos can be managed on the Sanctuary to avoid more injuries.
Justice is known as a little, lovely & playful Rhino which would at times run to the mother for safety purposes. It has been an impressing attraction for travelers on Uganda safari.
Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is apparently left with 14 Rhinos of which the three of the females are pregnant. The two of these Rhinos are at Uganda Wildlife Education Center for study purposes.
