Day 1 of the 6 Days Scheduled Uganda Gorilla Safari Chimpanzee Trekking & Wildlife Safari in Uganda: 5th Dec 2019: Transfer to Fort Portal, visit the Amabere g’ Nnyinamwiru caves, hike the Fort Portal Crater Area and transfer to Kibale National Park

After breakfast at your place of stay in Kampala, embark on the drive to Fort Portal area 300km about 4 – 5 hours’ drive. You will drive through impressive countryside landscapes of Uganda with impressive scenic views including the scenic Mubende inselbergs. You arrive in time for lunch after which you will proceed to the Fort Portal Crater Lake Field where you will first visit the Amabere g’ Nnyinamwiru caves, an ancient site that locals believe to be breasts of Nnyinamwiru the daughter of Bukuku a self-enthroned King of the Bachwezi. Geologically, the features are stalactites and stalagmites. From the caves, continue to hike the Fort Portal Crater field where you will summit the famous Kyeganywa hill offering impressive views of the crater lakes and crater hollows below and the views of Rwenzori Mountains on a clear day. Return from this activity and transfer to Kibale National Park 26km from Fort Portal town arriving at the lodge in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 2 of the 6 Days Scheduled Uganda Gorilla Safari Chimpanzee Trekking & Wildlife Safari in Uganda: 6th Dec 2019: Do Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale NP, do Bigodi wetland walk & transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

After breakfast, gather at Kanyanchu tourism center for briefing at 08:00am from the park rangers about the Chimp trekking conduct. Set off to this forest of Kibale after the short briefing in quest of Chimpanzees. The 2 – 5 hour trek will expose you amazing tree species and wildlife including other 12 species of primates like Colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, Red tailed monkeys and olive baboons. The sights of Birds cannot be avoided while their songs will offer you natural entertainment through the jungle. You will marvel at the Chimpanzees as the roll themselves on tree branches, munch fruits and make their pant – hooting calls. After utilizing your one hour, you will have a picnic lunch and return to the starting point for short relaxation before embarking on the wetland walk in the Bigodi sanctuary after which you connect to Queen Elizabeth National Park 157km from Kibale about 3 hours’ drive. The drive will also expose you to the scenic Mountains of the moon – the Rwenzoris towering up to 5,109m high with snowcapped peaks before approaching the rolling savannah plain of Queen Elizabeth & eventually at the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 3 of the 6 Days Scheduled Uganda Gorilla Safari Chimpanzee Trekking & Wildlife Safari in Uganda: 7th Dec 2019: Do morning game drive in Kasenyi sector, Kazinga channel launch cruise in the afternoon & evening game drive along the channel track

Connect to the rolling savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth NP stretching to Kasenyi plains where counts of wild game might be encountered including the elephants, Buffaloes, lions, leopards, Kobs, waterbucks, spotted hyenas, jackals among others. You have chances of encountering these animals as they mate, patrol, socialize, graze and hunt among other aspects that lure you into remarkable amazement. Retreat from the 3 – 4-hour activity to embark on the transfer to the lodge for relaxation and lunch after which you gather at Mweya jetty for an afternoon boat cruise along the 45km Kazinga Channel. The cruise exposes you to possible magical sights of the Hippos, Nile crocodiles and other wild game like elephants and buffaloes drinking on the channel side. Retreat from the activity and do a simple game drive along the channel track as you head back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 4 of the 6 Days Scheduled Uganda Gorilla Safari Chimpanzee Trekking & Wildlife Safari in Uganda: 8th Dec 2019: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable NP. Drive through Ishasha in search of tree climbing lions

After breakfast, embark on the transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You undertake a game drive in Ishasha sector in the south of Queen Elizabeth National Park in search of tree climbing lions and other wild game. The Ishasha is one of the only two places in the world where tree climbing lions can be encountered. They tend to lie in fig tree branches in the day time. Continue on the drive to arrive in Bwindi in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 5 of the 6 Days Scheduled Uganda Gorilla Safari Chimpanzee Trekking & Wildlife Safari in Uganda: 9th Dec 2019: Do Mountain Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable NP & transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for an evening boat cruise & relaxation

After breakfast, gather at the respective park headquarters for briefing at 8am and eventual start of the gorilla trekking encounter. You follow the trails of your respective gorilla family traversing the forest with is hilly forested landscapes and deep saddles. The hills are forested with mature trees and dense undergrowth that have earned it the name Impenetrable. The gorilla trekking encounter tends to last 2 – 8 hours inclusive of one (1) hour direct encounter with them. Seeing the critically endangered apes as they forage, socialize, the young gorillas rolling themselves on tree branches and the Silverback demonstrating his authority is a moment of wonder that derives remarkable excitement. Retreat from the activity and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi through the fascinating Kigezi Highlands with magical sceneries. Upon arrival at Lake Bunyonyi, you embark on a thrilling sun set boat cruise on the lake of a thousand islands as it has been dubbed because of its counts of 29 Islands. The cruise presents an evening soothing recreational encounter that is worth exploring and refreshment after gorilla trek adventure. Retire for dinner and overnight.

Day 6 of the 6 Days Scheduled Uganda Gorilla Safari Chimpanzee Trekking & Wildlife Safari in Uganda: 10th Dec 2019: Transfer to Entebbe, traditional lunch at Igongo Cultural Center & a stop at Uganda Equator crossing Kayabwe.

After your breakfast, embark on the journey back to Kampala 437km about 7 hours’ drive excluding stops en route. The drive will expose you to country side sceneries and economic activities that have sustained the lives of the local communities for centuries past among which include extensive Banana plantation and cattle keeping. You will make a stop for lunch at Igongo cultural center 12km past Mbarara. After this encounter, you will continue on the drive to Kampala. Another stop will be made at the Equator crossing Kayabwe 77km to Kampala for photo shoots and water experiments that justify the geographical divide between the northern and southern hemispheres if time permits. You will arrive in Kampala in the evening.
