1 Day Jinja Source of Nile Tour Detailed itinerary:-
Early morning after breakfast at set off at 7:00 am you will be picked up by our company guide and start your 1 Day Jinja Town Tour and the Source of the Nile Visit as you transfer to Jinja in the east of Uganda.
Your first stop will be at the Ssezibwa Falls which approximately 45 minutes’ drive is arriving at the favourite place of rest and healing for the Kabaka’s (King) of the Buganda Kingdom. People who believe in Kiganda traditions still come to seek the old ways at this place. For any visitor, these falls will leave a memorable adventure on your heart. The place is most suitable for bird watching, picnics, nature walks and birding tours. Enjoy the magnificent falls as well as the flowing rivers which is beautiful, and the scenery is indeed breath taking.
You will continue to drive through the famous towns like Lugazi famous for tea and sugarcane plantations and Namawojolo where you can enjoy optional stop over at the famous roadside fast food dispenser of fruits & roadside chicken for photos or purchase.Namawojolo is a road side market famous for its delicacy of roasted chicken and beef on sticks.
After Ssezibwa falls you will proceed with your 1 Day Jinja Safari trip to Mabira Forest where you will enjoy a nature walk.
On top of the lovely over 312 tree and plant species, Mabira forest has over 300 species of birds and over 218 of butterflies. Never the less you shall find different types of monkey and other mammals in this Forest while walking underneath this canopy of an African tropical Rainforest.
After the activity, you will get back into the vehicle and go for lunch at the Sunset Hotel -a lovely restaurant perched on a hill over the Nile serving very good food with chicken breast stuffed with spinach great delicacy. After lunch you will take a short ride to the source of the Nile-a quiet beautiful place, filled with palm trees, fantastic tropical plants and as you walk down the steps toward the River Nile you can smell of the flowers there. As you stand on the Nile, you will hear the gurgling water; watch native fishermen throw their nets in the longest river in Africa- At the source of the Nile you will take a short boat ride for scenic viewing
After the source of the Nile experience you will engage in the Jinja town drive which includes the old viewing of the old colonial buildings, the old railway station, diesel locomotives, golf course, the Hindu temple and the Memorial gardens where Mahat Magandi’s ashes were poured.
On this Jinja town City tour you will discover that Jinja town was once the industrial capital of Uganda but today a residential town filled with many old Indian styled structures in which many Indians lived during the pre-Amin area, some of whom have returned to reclaim their old properties.
