The 4 Days Mountaineering & Sightseeing Safari in Uganda takes you to the east of the country allowing you to hike the fourth tallest mountain in East Africa – the Elgon Mountain with the largest volcanic mountain Caldera extending to 42km2 and the largest volcanic base in the world extending to 4,000km2. The Elgon Mountain is noted to have been the highest before the forces of denudation reduced to its current position. The Safari also features the Sipi Falls one of the great waterfalls in Uganda marked with magical sightseeing encounter. The tour to Sezibwa falls, the forest walk in Mabira which is the largest rain forest in Central Uganda with counts of Birds and flora and the boat cruise to the historical source of the Nile combine to derive remarkable memories.

Day 1 of the 4 Days Mountaineering & Sightseeing Safari in Uganda to Mount Elgon National Park &Sipi Falls: Transfer to Jinja, Visit the Ssezibwa Falls, Mabira Forest, Reptile Village & boat cruise to the source of the Nile

After breakfast, transfer to Jinja driving 80km from the Uganda’s capital City Kampala which takes about 2 hours. The drive takes you past the impressive landscapes of the city outskirts before entering into the sugarcane plantations at Lugazi before branching off to tour the Ssezibwa Falls for impressive scenic views and exploring the cultural heritage that surround it. You continue on the drive to Mabira Forest for forest walk exploring the lush flora and birds not forgetting primates like the endemic Ugandan Mangabey. You continue to Jinja where you will take a visit to the reptile village to explore counts of snakes and other reptiles and then then connect to the source of the Nile in the afternoon. The boat cruise to the source of the Nile is a rewarding adventure as it exposes you to opportunities of exploring counts of birds including beautiful Kingfishers. Stepping the point where John Speke stood as the first European to discover the source of the River Nile takes you back to the ancient times when the mystical Nile River Source lured great men into the world of the unknown.

Day 2 of the 4 Days Mountaineering & Sightseeing Safari in Uganda to Mount Elgon National Park &Sipi Falls: Transfer to Sipi Area & hike the Sipi Falls

After breakfast, embark on the transfer to Sipi falls in the east of Uganda. The drive takes you through the beautiful eastern Uganda landscapes featuring lovely wetlands and swamps before approaching the extensive rice plantations that have made this region the hub of Uganda’s rice. You drive through Mbale area and proceed to Sipi for lunch. In the afternoon, you embark on the Sipi falls hike for sight-seeing experience. Enjoy the impressive scenery as you hike to the falls including the sights of Elgon Mountain and the plains of Karamoja. The Sipi falls present a lovely flow of water and a good site for photography. Return from the activity and connect to the lodge for relaxation and overnight

Day 3 of the 4 Days Mountaineering & Sightseeing Safari in Uganda to Mount Elgon National Park &Sipi Falls: Undertake a whole day hike to Mount Elgon

After breakfast, connect to Kapkwai Forest exploration center to embark on the hike to the Elgon Mountain. Standing at 4321m above sea level, Mount Elgon features not only the largest volcanic mountain caldera 42km2 but also the world’s largest volcanic base of 4,000km2. The hike to Elgon offers you impressive views of the mountain flora including the groundsel and giant lobelia, the panoramic views of Bagisu settlement and farmlands, Mbale town, Karamoja plains and Kenya. The mountain fauna exists though rarely seen including forest monkeys, forest antelopes, forest buffaloes and forest elephants. The sights of insects and birds – 300 species exist including the endangered Lammergeyer may not be missed. You have a picnic lunch on the mountain and retreat back to the starting point in the evening to connect to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.
