Day 1 of the 10 Days Uganda Safari Tour Chimpanzee Trekking & Uganda Wildlife Safari: Pick up from Kampala, transfer to Murchison Falls NP & visit Ziwa Rhinos en route (Approximately 4Hours & 49mins)

Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park Uganda 311km from Kampala about 5 hours’ drive excluding stops en route, You drive through impressive flat stretches of Nakasongora district before branching off at Nakitooma for 7km to Ziwa Sanctuary to track white Rhinos which are only found here in the whole of Uganda. You retreat from the activity, settle for lunch at Kabalega dinner and continue to Murchison Falls National Park arriving in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 2 of the 10 Days Uganda Safari Tour Chimpanzee Trekking & Uganda Wildlife Safari: Do morning game drive in the northern landscapes of Murchison, afternoon Nile launch cruise & hike to the top of the falls

Drive to the park’s northern section for a morning game drive offering impressive wild game viewing encounter.  The 3 – 4 activity takes you through the designated park tracks including Buligi, Queen, Albert and the entire delta area with possibilities of encountering the lions, elephants, Rothschild giraffes, Leopards, Jackson’s Hartebeest, waterbucks, Oribis, Kobs among others.  The open savannah grassland intercepted with scattered Borassus palms also presents a unique landscape worth viewing. Retreat from the activity and return to the lodge for relaxation and lunch after which you gather at Paraa jetty for an afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the falls. The 3-hour boat encounter opens you to the thrilling Nile waters in their relaxed flow as they join the Albert delta. The views of Hippos, Nile crocodile and shoebill stork might impress you along the adventure. Upon arriving on the bottom of the falls, you will embark on the hike to the top of the world’s powerful waterfall. The Nile River which is the longest in the world forces itself to pass through a less than 8m ravine before falling 43m below to what has been termed the devil’s cauldron forming a plume of spray marked by a thunderous roar and trademark rainbow. During the hike, you will enjoy the sounds of the Nile as it splashes its head on the impermeable rocks that have stood in its way for centuries past. Day 3 of the 10 Days Uganda Safari Tour Chimpanzee Trekking & Uganda Wildlife Safari: Transfer from Murchison Falls NP to Hoima and visit the Kibiro Salt mines (Approximately 2 Hours & 14mins)

After breakfast, embark on the transfer to Hoima. You make a stop en route at Kibiro Salt Gardens to encounter the heritage of this historic site. The Kibiro Salt Gardens has supported the livelihoods of the surrounding community dating far back to 900 years ago far before the coming of Europeans. The locals extract fine salt which they then exchange with the other communities for food and other items. The work of salt extraction at this site has for long been a dominant of female. The process of extracting is rather long and technical than the ordinary but it is amazing to see how the indigenous knowledge is put into use to have a product out well made. Accessing the site exposes you to walking on steep and challenging landscapes with narrow paths that can only be accessed by foot. Retreat from the encounter and transfer to Hoima arriving in the afternoon for relaxation, dinner and overnight

Day 4 of the 10 Days Uganda Safari Tour Chimpanzee Trekking & Uganda Wildlife Safari: Transfer from Hoima to Fort Portal Area. Visit the Amabere g’Nyinamwiru Caves and hike to the Fort Portal Crater field

Transfer to Fort Portal Area after breakfast following five (5) hours’ drive passing through the impressive countryside landscapes of Kagadi and Kyenjojo that are dotted with lush green, rural homesteads and farmlands. Upon arriving in Fort Portal Area, you settle for lunch in one of best restaurants in Fort Portal town after which you embark on the visit the Amabere g’ Nyinamwiru Caves and hike the Fort Portal Crater Lake field. Upon arrival, you are welcomed by the local inhabitants of the place with deep understanding and history of the place. You visit the Amabere g’ Nnyinamwiru caves – the breast like features believed to have belonged to Nyinamwiru the daughter of Bukuku who was a self-enthroned King of the Bachwezi. She was denied the opportunity to breastfeed her baby Ndahura as the father had been alerted that the child will take over his throne. The milk continues to flow out of Nyinamwiru’s breasts. Retreat from this encounter and embark on the hike to the Fort Portal Crater Lake field where you traverse the challenging slopes of Kyeganywa hill surrounded by a range of crater lakes and crater hollows presenting one of the beautiful scenic sites in Uganda. The top of Kyeganywa hill offers the views of Rwenzori Mountains on a clear day. Retreat from the chosen activity and transfer to Kibale National Park for relaxation, dinner and overnight

Day 5 of the 10 Days Uganda Safari Tour Chimpanzee Trekking & Uganda Wildlife Safari: Early morning birding walk in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary & transfer to Queen Elizabeth Np for afternoon Kazinga Channel boat safari & evening game drive along the channel track 

After breakfast, you transfer at 7 am to Bigodi wetland Sanctuary a famous successful community tourism initiative in the whole of Uganda presenting a magical walk in its communally controlled wetland with possible sights of 138 species of birds including the great blue turaco, the papyrus gonoleks and a range of hornbills. The sights of the swamp-dwelling sitatunga antelope that is resident in the swamp may also be explored. The walk offers a touch of the community including the home of the traditional healer and an extension to the local school can also be arranged. The range of arts and crafts at the centre put together by local women offers you an impressive look of the local expertise. Retreat from the activity and embark on the 157km about 3 hours drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park enjoying the sights of Rwenzori Mountains en route. Upon arrival in Queen Elizabeth National Park Uganda, you drive through the Mweya peninsular before gathering at Mweya jetty for an afternoon Kazinga Channel boat cruise.  The boat encounter departs at 2 pm to explore the 45km long Kazinga Channel which is a habitat to Nile crocodiles, Hippos and a range of bird species including the African Skimmer, yellow billed stork among others. The channel connects lakes Edward and George and acts as drinking point for counts of wild game in Queen Elizabeth National Park. The boat activity lasts 2 hours and you do an evening game drive along the channel track for wild game viewing as you connect to the lodge for relaxation dinner and overnight

Day 6 of the 10 Days Uganda Safari Tour Chimpanzee Trekking & Uganda Wildlife Safari: Do Morning game drive in Kasenyi Sector of Queen Elizabeth Np & afternoon Chimpanzee trekking in Kalinzu Forest Reserve 

Drive to the rolling plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park with its extensive savannah grassland for amazing game viewing experience after breakfast. The drive through the Kasenyi tracks enables you to explore a range of game including the elephants, lions, buffaloes, leopards, waterbucks, side stripped jackals among other species. The activity tends to last 3 – hours after which you will return to the lodge for relaxation and lunch. In the afternoon, you transfer to the outskirts of Queen Elizabeth Park where Kalinzu Forest Reserve is located and engage in Chimpanzee tracking activity starting at 2 pm. The chimp trek lasts 2 – 5 hours inclusive of 1 hour of actual chimp viewing exploring them as they feed and socialise. Retreat from the activity and proceed to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight

Day 7 of the 10 Days Uganda Safari Tour Chimpanzee Trekking & Uganda Wildlife Safari: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi but with an extensive game drive in Ishasha sector in search of tree climbing lions 

After breakfast, embark on the transfer to Lake Bunyonyi Uganda 289km about 7- 8 hours’ drive. You undertake a game drive in Ishasha sector in the south of Queen Elizabeth National Park in search of tree climbing lions and other wild game. The Ishasha is one of the only two places in the world where tree climbing lions can be encountered. They tend to lie in fig tree branches in the day time. Continue on the drive passing through the fascinating Kigezi Highlands to arrive at Lake Bunyonyi in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight

Day 8 of the 10 Days Uganda Safari Tour Chimpanzee Trekking & Uganda Wildlife Safari: Relaxation at Lake Bunyonyi. You can engage in Island hopping and canoe ride. The lake has 29 Islands and is surrounded by the fascinating Kigezi Highlands. 

This day is dedicated to relaxation. You relax at the tranquil Island of Kyahugye and you can engage in a canoe paddle experience along with Island hopping exploring the main and historical Islands of Lake Bunyonyi.

After a relaxed breakfast, embark on the transfer to Lake Mburo Park 199km about 4 hours’ drive. A lunch stop will be made at Igongo Cultural Centre before proceeding to enter the park through Sanga Gate. Do an evening game drive as you head to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight

Day 10 of the 10 Days Uganda Safari Tour Chimpanzee Trekking & Uganda Wildlife Safari: Do Morning game walking Safari in the savannah stretches of Lake Mburo Np & transfer to Kampala. 

Lake Mburo National Park Uganda with an extensive savannah environment can be better explored on foot. The game walking safari at the sunrise allows you to explore the moist savannah dotted with magical acacia Species supporting a range of wildlife and birds. During the walk, you have possibilities of exploring the range of game including Impala, Rothschild giraffes, Burchell’s Zebra, Topis, waterbucks, Warthogs, bushbucks, Klipspringer, Cape Buffaloes, elands not forgetting acacia associated birds including the endemic Red-faced Barbet. The hike to the Kazuma Hill allows you to gain beautiful views of the area and the myriad of lakes below including Lake Mburo and Lake Kacheera the only permanent water sources in the area. You retreat from the 3 – 4-hour encounter and embark on the transfer back to Kampala 240km about 3 – 4 hours’ drive. A stop will be made at the Uganda Equator crossing Kayabwe for amazing photo shoots and water experiments that justify the geographical divide between the northern and southern hemispheres. Proceed on the drive to Kampala to mark the end of the safari in Uganda.
