Following your flight from the place of origin, you land in Uganda at the famous Entebbe International Airport located on the shores of Lake Victoria on the magical Entebbe peninsular. The brightening tropical sun and the fresh air emerging from the second largest fresh water lake in the world – Lake Victoria offers you a natural welcome to the Pearl of Africa! From the immigration to secure your entry visa, you find company representative at the arrival waiting area who will brief you about Uganda and the safari in particular before transferring to the respective hotel for relaxation. If you arrive in the morning, you can opt to undertake the day trip of Kampala city exploring the sites of religious, historical, political, economic, educational and cultural significance. These include; the Namugongo Martyrs Shrine, the Kabaka’s Palace, Gadhafi Mosque, Baha’i Temple, Rubaga and Namirembe Cathedral, the Makerere University, the Uganda Parliament, Uganda National Museum, Market like Owino and Nakasero among others before retiring for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Take breakfast and depart to Bwindi 527km about 10 hours’ drive. You make a stop at Uganda Equor crossing at Kayabwe 77km from Kampala to have light moments with the path of the sun. Uganda is indeed tropical country traversed by the equator. The site is magical for photography where you can take pictures with one leg in one hemisphere and another one in another hemisphere. Impressive water experiments can be made to justify the geographical divide between these two poles. The site also features a range of gift shops where you can do some shopping of the impressive African craft and art works. You retreat from the activity and embark on the drive passing through impressive country side landscapes including the rangelands of Ankole before making a stop at Igongo Cultural Center 12km to Mbarara for a traditional lunch at the famous Kahwa Kanuzire restaurant. You proceed to Bwindi driving through the landscapes of Ntungamo before being welcomed by the fascinating Kigezi Highlands. Arrive in Bwindi in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Early morning after breakfast, with your packed lunch, go for a briefing at 08:00 hours before beginning the trek. Gorilla tracking is unpredictable, so it is difficult to foresee how many hours you will take in the process. It may take 2-8 hours, and you should be prepared to walk a long distance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before you encounter any gorillas. An encounter of these gentle giants will be your most exciting experience! For conservation purposes, time spent with the gorillas is limited to one hour. The ranger guide always briefs you on how to behave with these gentle giants. After an encounter of a group of gorillas some with silver backs, one can say “a sight of Gorillas has made my life time tour”. Return to the lodge for relaxation and in the evening, you attend to the impressive local performance of the surrounding communities. They have magical energetic dance that matches the sounds produce by their hands and drums with the best dancer being the one who shakes the ground. Retire for overnight.

Having taken breakfast, you will be transferred to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The park is rich in wildlife and others call it a birder’s paradise! Arrive through the famous Ishasha Sector, in anticipation of rewarding your cameras by seeing the tree-climbing lions. The Ishasha sector features fig tree species with low lying branches that are liked by the lions during the day time. It presents clear viewing opportunities for tree climbing lions other than other areas where such species exist. After the drive, connect to the upper section of Queen Elizabeth NP for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, depart for a game drive in the Northern parts of the park along the Kasenyi track. This is the best time for opportunities of viewing the cats in action. This early morning game drive in the park, provides excellent opportunities to encounter Lions, Leopards, Cape Buffaloes, Elephants, Defassa Waterbucks, Uganda Kobs, Topi and Bush bucks and many more. After lunch, enjoy the unique 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward. This trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of Hippos and many animals may be seen drinking at the water’s edge. This launch cruise offers an excellent platform for photography. Bird watching and game viewing is wonderful. The prolific bird life is colorful and stupendous with well over 550 resident species recorded making it a magnet for bird watchers. Retreat from the activity and do a game drive along the channel track as you head to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.

Take breakfast, you may choose to explore Kyambura Gorge driving through grassland area. Pass by the astonishing gorge of the tropical rainforest 100 meters deep. Trek into Kyambura River Gorge for an extra ordinary experience tracking chimpanzees. It’s a lucrative experience not only to see the chimpanzees, but also to see the gorgeous river valley that houses numerous birds and butterfly species, then transfer to Kibale National Park, a proclaimed home of Primates. You drive along the magical scenic landscapes of Rwenzori Mountains with snowcapped peaks.

After breakfast, we shall drive to Kibale Forest N/P, for primate viewing. This park is known for the highest number of primate species in Africa. The activity starts at 8.00 am in the morning. 2-3 hours search for chimpanzees and other primates including L’hoest’s Monkeys, Black and white Colobus Monkey, Blue and Red-tailed Monkey and grey cheeked Mangabeys swinging through the dense forest and birds, butterflies and many small insects The guide will provide detailed explanations on not only primates, but also on all the forest’s fauna and flora, ensuring that your walk is both informative and enjoyable. This walk is excellent for viewing bird life and primates in close quarters. A visit to Bigodi swamp eco-tourism site is amazing, as we shall encounter rare and beautiful flora and fauna. Bigodi wetland supports 138 bird species among which include the Great Blue Turaco with its magical beauty. The swamp features resident Sitatunga antelope that may be encountered during the walk. Transfer back to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.

After breakfast, connect to the Fort Portal Crater Lake field where you undertake the Fort Portal Crater lake hike exploring the impressive landscape that was formed as a result of violent volcanic activity that hit the area. There are a range of crater lakes and empty hollows that make the views of the area magical. You hike Kyeganywa hill which requires some fitness to gain panoramic views of the area and the Rwenzori Mountains at a distance on a clear day. Tour the Amabere g’ Nnyinamwiru Caves which is a historical site that locals believe to belong to the Bachwezi and that the breast like features are real breasts of Nyinamwiru who was the daughter of Bukuku who was a self-enthroned King of the Bachwezi. You retreat from the activity and embark on the transfer back to Kampala 300km about 5 hours’ drive.
