The Uganda Tourism Board the marketing body of Uganda safari attractions in conjunction with Uganda Wildlife Authority and Uganda Safari Guides Association is dedicated in offering discounted domestic adventures that would enable citizenry to also undertake safaris in Uganda.
The overwhelming demand from the public for events like the Birding day, Imbalu ceremony and Bishop Hannington memorial, the UTB is convinced that the there is a good market pool for tourism products on a local scale which needs to be tapped.
The discounted group trips would be much lower in terms of price while generating ultimate Uganda safari tour experience. The amalgamation of traveller and safari guides would definitely spice the encounter. Other players in the private sector acknowledge the move noting that it would help to reduce the notion that tourism is for foreigners because apparently they are the ones that normally venture into safaris to Uganda.
It is interesting to note that the body is trying to walk the talk as it has already arranged successfully a memorable familiarization tour to the north eastern micro destinations of Kidepo Valley National Park, the impressive highlands and scenic landscapes of Kaboong and the areas that surround it. The corner has initially been known for its remoteness and inaccessibility despite great counts of wildlife some of which is endemic. This would definitely increase the number of travellers that undertake Uganda safaris and tours.
