UWA has installed an Inplant Machine at their Reservations Office in Kampala. All cash payments for UWA services — permits, bookings, etc. — now go through it.

• Hours: Mon–Fri 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. | Sat 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
• Payments show in the system after 24 hours.
• Once the bank confirms payment, UWA processes your booking right away.

Therefore, this means you need to build in time for payment to clear. The new system is meant to cut delays and make things more transparent for everyone — tourists and operators alike.

2. Two New Gorilla Groups Added — No More “Extra” Permits 

Good news for gorilla trekkers. Two fully habituated groups are now in the official booking system of the Uganda Wildlife Authority:

• Happy Group – Buhoma Sector, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
• Nshanjare Group – Rushaga Sector, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Because they’re now fully integrated, UWA won’t issue extra permits beyond the normal daily quota.
